Meditating The Word
This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. Joshua 1:8 Meditate means to muse, talk about, consider, meditate, sigh, sing. Our words have power (the power of life and death are in the tongue), but God‘s Word isn‘t just powerful, it‘s anointed. What if instead of speaking what we think about ourselves, we spoke God‘s Word over ourselves instead as a form of meditation? What if we personalized and prayed scripture as a form of daily meditation? Well, as God told Joshua, I believe that THEN you will make your way prosperous and THEN you shall have good success.

This is Day 337. We are reading 1st Corinthians 15-16
----
Jesus will return! Thank You that Jesus has conquered death and the grave. Death has no sting for the believer. It has no victory. The victory is in Christ Jesus. Until his return, we will watch, standing firm in the faith. We will courageously and boldly spread the good news of the Gospel -- both in person in our own sphere of influence, and through financial support of those carrying the messages beyond our circle. But, not just in word, Father. We will show others Your love and Your mercy and Your grace by doing all that we do in love. Amen

This is Day 336. We are reading 1st Corinthians 12-14
----
Father God, thank You for the gifts of Holy Spirit, and for those who allow the gifts to flow through them to build up the members of the body of Christ. We thank You that each of us has a place in Your Kingdom and in the body of Christ. We don't envy the gifts or roles of another, but know that You have given the gifts as You desire, and as they will best benefit the whole. The gifts aren't ours, they are Yours, they only flow through us as we are willing vessles. We earnestly seek those gifts, but more than anything, Father, we seek to love as You love. We seek to be patient and kind, not to envy, brag or boast. We don't seek to have our own way, and we aren't provoked to anger. We rejoice in the truth. We bear all things, believe in all things, hope in all things and we endure all things through the power of love. And Your love never fails. Amen

Today on Meditating the Word: Paul's Rights as an Apostle, Use of Freedom, Need for Discipline, Warnings from Israel's History, Idol Feasts and the Lord's Supper, Believer's Freedom, Covering the Head in Worship, Abuse of the Lord's Supper.
This is Day 335. We are reading 1st Corinthians 9-11
----
Father God, some of the Apostle Paul's passages are difficult for today's women to accept. On the one hand, it's obvious that woman was created for man (as a helper, and so he wouldn't be alone), how we despise submission. And we should be careful who we submit ourselves to. We aren't asked to submit ourselves to an abusive relationship. But what beauty there is when a woman trusts her husband enough to submit, because he loves her as Christ loves the church, who loved us enough to lay down his life us. We submit ourselves to You, Father. We bring our minds and our bodies under subjection, offering ourselves to You a living sacrifice. Amen

Today on Meditating the Word: A Case of Incest, Lawsuits Among Believers, Sexual Immorality, Married Life, Change of Status, The Unmarried, Food Sacrificed to Idols.
This is Day 334. We are reading 1st Corinthians 5-8
----
Father God, give us revelation knowledge of what it truly means that our bodies are the temple of Holy Spirit. You chose to dwell in our bodies, temples made without hands. Yet, we don't honor our own bodies -- and not just through sexual immorality, but we simply don't take proper care of them. Just as a physical building needs to be maintained properly, so do our bodies. We need fresh air, sunshine, exercise, wholesome foods, fresh water, proper sleep. Often we focus only on the spiritual -- and while that is the most important thing -- we sometimes neglect the earth suit in which we live -- in which YOU live. Convict us of where we need to improve so that we can be worthy and useful vessels to do Your work in the earth. Amen

Today on Meditating the Word: Division in the Church, Christ Crucified is God's Power and Wisdom, God's Wisdom Revealed by the Spirit, Church and Leaders, True Apostleship.
This is Day 333. We are reading 1st Corinthians 1-4
----
Father God, Just as there were factions in Corinth, we see the same divisions in the church today. Christians saying their denomination is right and others are wrong... Even thinking those in their church will be the only ones saved, while those in other denominations will be lost. There is only one name by which we are saved, and that is Jesus. Keep our hearts from being foolish, Father. Let us rely on Christ alone for our salvation. We will gladly be fools for Christ's sake. You use the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; the weak things to shame the strong; and the things that don’t exist, to bring to nothing the things that do exist. All the glory and the honor belongs to You. Amen

Today on Meditating the Word: Paul in Corinth, Priscilla, Aquila and Apollos, Paul in Ephesus, the Riot in Ephesus.
This is Day 332. We are reading Acts 18-19
----
Father God, thank You for Your anointing. Thank You for giving us the authority to use the name of Jesus. That same anointing, that same authority that was on Paul is available to us today. Jesus told us to go into all the world and preach the good news, and that He would give the signs through us. We were told to lay hands on the sick and they will recover. We were told to cast out demons. Give us the boldness to act in Jesus' name, knowing that the signs following are up to him. Our part is simply to be his hands and feet in the earth. Amen

Father God, Thank You for Your Word. Thank You for the Apostle Paul and his letters to the early church. Through them, we receive instruction in how to live a Christ-centered life. As he exhorted the Thessalonians, Father, let us also abound more and more in love toward others. Thank You for Your boundless love and grace. Father, we don't look for a handout, but each of us works in quietness and we eat our own bread. Thank You for all of the opportunities we have to work, the avenues through which You supply us with all of our physical needs. And thank You for the peace of Jesus, the Prince of Peace; a peace that surpasses all understanding, a peace that we have at all times and in all ways. Amen

Father God, scripture plainly states that Your creation testifies of You and that all people have been given the opportunity to know that there is one true God, and to believe. You are that God. You are not an unknown God, but You are our Abba Father, known to us, and we are known and loved by You. May we also testify to You throughout our lives, our words and our actions, Father. Amen

Today on Meditating the Word: Paul's Concern for the Galatians, Hagar and Sarah, Freedom in Christ, Life by the Spirit, Doing Good to All, Not Circumcision but New Creation
This is Day 329. We are reading Galatians 4-6
----
Father God, as the Apostle Paul reminds us in his letter to the Galatians, we are not under the law but under grace. Thank You, Father, for Your mercy. We couldn't possibly keep the law. That has been shown throughout the generations. Our spirit may be willing, but our human flesh is weak. Thank You, Father, for making a way for us through Jesus Christ to be adopted into Your family as Your children -- full heirs of the promise made to Abraham. We aren't worthy by anything we have done or will do, but only through the blood of Jesus. Amen

This is Day 328. We are reading Galatians 1-3
----
Father God, thank You for the blessing of the promise. We understand the law was necessary. It showed us that we were incapable of being righteous on our own. Man needed a Savior. Under the Old Covenant, there were many sacrifices. But under the New Covenant, there was one sacrifice -- Jesus Christ -- who died once for all to cleanse us from sin and redeem us from the curse. Thank You that we are saved by grace through faith and not by our works, which can never match up. Thank You for a salvation that we can't earn and didn't deserve, but You loved us enough to give it to us freely. Amen

Meditating The Word
What if instead of speaking what we think about ourselves, we spoke God‘s Word over ourselves? What if we personalized and prayed scripture as a form of daily meditation?
That's the goal of this podcast. No filler, no ads... just God's Word personalized in the form of a daily confession.
