Meditating The Word
This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. Joshua 1:8 Meditate means to muse, talk about, consider, meditate, sigh, sing. Our words have power (the power of life and death are in the tongue), but God‘s Word isn‘t just powerful, it‘s anointed. What if instead of speaking what we think about ourselves, we spoke God‘s Word over ourselves instead as a form of meditation? What if we personalized and prayed scripture as a form of daily meditation? Well, as God told Joshua, I believe that THEN you will make your way prosperous and THEN you shall have good success.

As Esther did, when we face a difficult decision, Father, let us bring it to You with prayer and fasting. Through Esther, we are reminded to be faithful, Father. We are reminded that each of us was created on purpose, and for a purpose. Who knows, but we were created for such a time as this. Give us the same courage as this brave woman, to follow You no matter where it leads -- even unto death. Amen

Day 261: Ezra 4-6 and Psalm 137
Sep 18, 2023
Sep 18, 2023
15 min
Today on Meditating the Word, oppostion to the rebuilding of the temple, later oppostion under Ahasuerus and Artaxerxes, Tattenai's letter to Darius, the decree of Darius, completion and dedication of the temple and the Passover is celebrated.
This is Day 261. Today we are reading Ezra 4-6 and praying Psalm 137
----
Father God, thank You for Ezra, and his recounting of the events in Jerusalm. It seemed that all was lost, everyone had turned against them, their enemies had the upper hand, and construction of the temple would cease... but God... You constantly amaze us! The plan the enemy had for evil, to keep Your temple from being built, was thwarted and You turned it into good. Not only did the building continue, but their enemies were commanded to support the construction and provide for the sacrifices. Only You, Father. And You are still working miracles today. In our lives, what the enemy plans for evil, You turn into good. Thank You for always making a way. Amen

Day 260: Ezra 1-3
Sep 17, 2023
Sep 17, 2023
14 min
Today on Meditating the Word, King Cyrus helps the exiles return to Jerusalem, the list of exiles who returned, rebuilding the altar, and rebuilding the temple.
This is Day 260. Today we are reading Ezra 1-3.
----
Father God, again, we see the prophecies being fulfilled, just as they were foretold by your prophets. King Cyrus decreed that Your temple be rebuilt in Jerusalem, just as Jeremiah had prophesied. And, while the new temple was not on the same grand scale as Solomon's temple had been, it still evoked a shout of joy from Your people, so loud, that it was heard far away. Father, let us be just as unrestrained in our praise. When we come together to worship You, let our songs and shouts of joy be so loud, that people wonder what is going on. Amen

Sep 16, 2023
Sep 16, 2023
17 min
Today on Meditating the Word, Daniel's vision of a man, the Kings of the South and the North, the King who exalts himself and the end times.
This is Day 259. Today we are reading Daniel 10-12.
----
Father God, as we read the words of the prophet Daniel, we are reminded that Your Word says You do nothing that Your prophets haven't spoken. We know these prophecies are for the end times, Father, and we know those times are close at hand. Like Daniel, we will continue to fast and to pray and to worship You, Father, knowing that we can rest on Your promises, that Your promises are sure. You are our portion. You are our inheritance. We trust in You, Father, that no matter what may happen in this world, we have eternity with You ahead of us. Amen

Day 258: Daniel 7-9
Sep 15, 2023
Sep 15, 2023
18 min
Today on Meditating the Word, Daniel's dream of four beasts, the interpretation of the dream, Daniel's vision of a ram and a goat, the interpretation of the vision, Daniel's prayer and the seventy sevens.
This is Day 258. Today we are reading Daniel 7-9.
----
Father God, the prophecies against Your people are hard to read. But, the Children of Israel were under the law, not under grace. And even though You showed them favor, and you sent prophets to warn them so they could turn from their ways, they didn't return to You. I cannot even imagine the sorrow You must have felt when judgment was poured out on Your people so that reconciliation could be made. We are so grateful for Your love and mercy. We are so grateful that Jesus paid the ultimate price bringing us back into right standing with You. And we are so grateful that we live under grace. May we continue to seek You with prayer and fasting, knowing that at the beginning of our petitions, Your commandment goes out, sending forth the angels, messengers of light, to accomplish Your Word in our lives. Thank You, Father. Amen

Meditating The Word
What if instead of speaking what we think about ourselves, we spoke God‘s Word over ourselves? What if we personalized and prayed scripture as a form of daily meditation?
That's the goal of this podcast. No filler, no ads... just God's Word personalized in the form of a daily confession.
