Father God, how we love the account of Daniel. What an amazing testimony of his faithfulness and yours. Even at the risk of death, he would not deny You, but continued to worship You as he always had. And You proved faithful in shutting the mouths of the lions so that he wasn't harmed. Father, to have the faithfulness of Daniel, to worship You and to praise You, no matter what may come. Help us, Father, to be that faithful. Amen

Daniel and his companions fasted and prayed, and You showed them secrets they could not have possibly seen without Your divine intervention. You took a slave, and gave him so much favor with men that he was promoted from slave to ruler over a kingdom. And You have redeemed us from slavery to sin to ruling and reigning with Christ Jesus. Thank You for showering us with Your favor, Father. Amen

Father God, thank You for the prophet Joel. Only three short, but amazing chapters with so many wonderful promises. We claim those promises today, Father. Even though they were made originally to the children of Israel, we have been adopted into Your family and have the same blessings and promises available to us. You are gracious and merciful, slow to anger and abundant in loving kindness and You have done great things. You will restore the years that the locusts have eaten. We will have plenty and be satisfied. You have poured out Your Spirit on all flesh, so that we can prophesy, dream dreams and see visions. Thank You for restoration and thank You for the gift of Holy Spirit. Amen

In the final description of Jerusalem, what becomes clear is that the temple, the sanctuary, Your dwelling, is to be at the very center. What a great lesson for us today, Father. You are to be in the very center of our lives. Not excluded from any place or activity. In fact, Holy Spirit dwells in us -- at our very center. We can truly say at all times: The Lord is here. Thank You, Father, for this gift. Amen

Father God, we marvel at Your mercy and Your grace. While we know it's possible to turn our backs on You and to reject salvation, Your mercy abounds when we go astray. Even though the Levites led the children of Israel in the worship of other gods, You still made a place for them in Your temple. They were still given a role to fill for Your Kingdom. It gives us great comfort to know that even when we mess up, You still have a place for us. You forgive us and welcome us back. Thank You for Your unending love and mercy. Amen

In this world where tolerance is celebrated, and many know longer believe in good and bad, right and wrong. Scripture makes it clear that there is a difference between the holy and the common. Help us to discern the difference in our own lives, Father, and to judge everything by Your measuring reed, and not the whims of society. Thank You, Father. Amen----

So I ask that Holy Spirit give us insight, reveleation, fresh manna from the passages of scripture that we read. Your Word says that ALL scripture is God-breathed. It's to teach us, rebuke us, correct us, and to train us in righteousness. To thoroughly equip us for every good work. So we ask for supernatural understanding of the more difficult passages. And we know that You will give it. Thank You for hearing us when we pray. Amen
