Day 11: Fasting & Praying For Our Enemies
Thursday Jan 25, 2024
Thursday Jan 25, 2024
What if the secret to transforming your greatest adversaries lies not in conflict, but in the unexpected power of fasting and praying for them? It's Day 11 of our 21 day fast. We have passed the halfway mark. Today, we're going to talk about Fasting and Praying for our enemies.
DISCLAIMERS:
Remember, fasting does not move God. Fasting moves us. It puts us in a position to receive from God.
I am not a medical professional, and nothing in this podcast should be taken as medical advice.
Please fast responsibly. If you have any underlying health issues or unhealthy relationship with food, do not fast. And if you are going on an extended fast, it's a good idea to check with your doctor first.
Father God,
As we continue to fast and pray, we turn our hearts towards You, seeking the grace to embrace what seems beyond our human capacity – to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us. Your Word tells us to bless those who curse us, and pray for those who mistreat us.
We acknowledge that this can be an inward struggle. Our flesh recoils from this instruction. Yet, in this act of fasting, we seek to bring our flesh under the dominion of our spirit, aligning our will with Yours. As we bring our physical bodies under subjection, we surrender ourselves to You, seeking guidance and strength.
Your Word promises that when our ways please You, You make even our enemies be at peace with us. This profound promise guides us now, as we lift up those who have wronged us, not in a spirit of resentment, but with a desire for reconciliation and peace.
Especially for those among us grappling with the heavy chains of unforgiveness, let this time of prayer and fasting be a transformative journey. May it be the key that unlocks the door to healing and liberation from bitterness. Open our hearts, Father, to forgive as we have been forgiven, to love as we are loved by You, and to receive the full measure of Your blessings in our lives.
We pray not only for our spiritual growth but also for the well-being of those who appear to be adversaries in our journey. May they, too, find Your peace and love in their lives. Help us to see them through Your eyes, as fellow children in need of Your grace.
We submit ourselves Your will, trusting in Your unfailing love and mercy. Thank You, Father.
Amen

Can fasting unlock a deeper confession, transform worship, and guide you back to God's path? It's Day ten of our 21 day fast. Today, we're going to talk about Fasting for Confession, Worship and Recommitment. We'll look at an account of fasting in Nehemiah 9 and we'll also look at a prophecy in Jeremiah 14.
DISCLAIMERS:
Remember, fasting does not move God. Fasting moves us. It puts us in a position to receive from God.

Please fast responsibly. If you have any underlying health issues or unhealthy relationship with food, do not fast. And if you are going on an extended fast, it's a good idea to check with your doctor first.
Father God,
In this sacred time of fasting, we approach Your throne of grace. As we deny ourselves the comfort of food, we seek a deeper communion with You. Our hearts echo the sincerity of our confession. We lay bare our faults and failings before You, and thank You for Your mercy and forgiveness.
In this act of fasting, let every pang of hunger remind us of our spiritual needs, drawing us closer to Your presence. May this physical emptiness be filled with Your spiritual abundance, leading us into a profound state of worship. As we abstain, let our spirits ascend in adoration and thanksgiving for Your endless love and grace.
Father, guide us through this journey of self-denial to rediscover Your path. We renew our commitment to Your ways and rekindle the flame of faith in our hearts, walking steadfastly in Your footsteps.
In this sacrificial act, let us find a deeper understanding of Your will and purpose for our lives. May this fasting be not just an act of self-discipline, but a testament to our devotion and recommitment to You.
Thank You, Father, that Your joy is our strength and that even in our weakness, Your strength is made perfect.
In the name of Jesus, we pray.Amen

Father God,
In the face of battles and challenges, both seen and unseen, we take comfort in Your Word. We are not afraid or discouraged, for the battle is not ours, but Yours. We lay down our fears and anxieties at Your feet, trusting in Your power and might, and in the victory that Jesus has already won.
You are our fortress and shield, our unshakable refuge in times of trouble. As we stand in the midst of life's storms, we rely not on our own human ability, but in Your strength and guidance. We take up our position with courage and stand firm in faith, standing in the winner's circle.
As we fast, we listen for Your voice, leading us and directing our steps. Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guards our hearts and our minds in Christ Jesus.

Day Five: Repentance and True Fasting
Friday Jan 19, 2024
Friday Jan 19, 2024
How does denying oneself through fasting open the door to repentance? Today we'll explore a fast that postponed judgement. This is Cheree. Welcome to Meditating the Word.
It's Day five of our 21 day fast. Today, we're going to talk about Fasting for Repentance and True Fasting. We'll look at an account of fasting in 1st Kings 21 and we'll also look at some Biblical instructions for fasting in Isaiah 58.
Father God,
We come before You, seeking the true essence of fasting that pleases Your heart. Teach us to fast not merely in form, but in spirit and in truth.
Give us the grace to understand that true fasting goes beyond abstaining from food and drink; it is a surrender of our entire being to Your will. May our fast be a time of genuine self-denial, where we lay aside not only our physical cravings but also our selfish desires and ambitions.
Father, help us to develop a spirit of compassion and justice, as we fast. Let our abstinence be coupled with a deeper commitment to acts of love—feeding the hungry, sheltering the homeless, and clothing the naked. Help us to break the chains of injustice and to lift the burdens of those who are oppressed.
In our fasting, let us not be consumed by strife and conflict, but be peacemakers and carriers of Your divine love, bringing reconciliation, healing, and peace in our communities, our homes and in our hearts.
May our sacrifice be acceptable in Your sight, and may our prayers ascend to You like incense.
We pray for the strength to honor You not just in our fasting but in every aspect of our lives. May our actions reflect Your love and mercy, and may our lives be a testament to Your unfailing grace.
In this period of fasting, renew us. Let Your light break forth in our lives like the dawn, and Your guidance lead us on the path of righteousness. May our fasting be a journey towards a deeper, more meaningful relationship with You.
We thank You, Father, for the promises of restoration and joy in obedience. As we commit ourselves to this fast, may we find our delight in You and experience the fullness of Your blessings.
In the name of Jesus Christ, we pray.Amen

It's Day four of our 21 day fast. Today, we're going to talk about Fasting for Healing
We'll look at an account of fasting in 2nd Samuel 12.

Father God,
I lift up to You those who are burdened with health issues. Your Word tells us that healing has already been provided. Isaiah 53:5 tells us by his wounds we are healed. And 1st Peter 2:24 puts it in past tense telling us by his wounds we have been healed. Jeremiah 30:17 tells us You will restore us to health and heal our wounds. Psalm 103:3 tells us you heal all our diseases.
Father, we humble ourselves before You, submitting our bodies a living sacrifice. And we place ourselves in a position to receive Your healing.
In our moments of pain and uncertainty, may we feel Your presence ever closer, as a source of strength and hope. Give us the courage to face each day, trusting in Your unwavering love and the promise of health.
In moments of weakness and doubt, remind us all of the strength that comes from faith, the comfort found in community, and the healing power of Your unconditional love.
May each soul in distress find restoration and wellness, not only in body but also in mind and spirit. Father, we place our trust and hope in You, knowing that nothing is impossible with You.

Day Three: Fasting as Part of the Grieving Process
Wednesday Jan 17, 2024
Wednesday Jan 17, 2024
In the shadows of sorrow, can fasting help us through the grieving process? Today we'll explore one of the most common -- although not always conscious -- reasons for fasting.
It's Day three of our 21 day fast. Today, we're going to talk about Fasting as Part of the Grieving Process.
We'll look at an account of fasting in 1st Samuel 1 and 2nd Samuel 1 and 1st Chronicles 10.
If you are struggling to process grief, you may want to consider fasting as part of your transformation.
Remember, fasting doesn't move God. Fasting moves us. It puts us in a position to receive from God.
And please fast responsibly. If you have any underlying health issues or unhealthy relationship with food, do not fast. If you are going on an extended fast, it's a good idea to check with your doctor first.
-----
Father God, I speak Your Word over everyone listening to this podcast. And especially over those dealing with grief. May they feel Your embrace in their season of mourning. You are always present, Father. May they find peace in Your Presence even in their moments of sorrow.
We are reminded that we do not grieve as unbelievers do. Because we know that earthly, physical death is not the end. We have the hope of seeing our loved ones again. Give those who are going through this process the courage to face each day, and the hope to see beyond their pain.
Father, You heal the broken hearted, and You soothe our troubled spirits. Help those who have lost someone dear to treasure the cherished memories and the love shared.
Bless them with the support of friends and family, and guide those around them to offer words of comfort and acts of kindness.
Thank You for Your everlasting love.Amen.
