Father God, we know that your hand is not shortened, nor your ear dull. You hear us and You provide a way for us. Although we didn't deserve it, in your loving mercy and kindness, you redeemed us through Jesus. We couldn't do anything to save ourselves, so you brought salvation to us and have given us Your breastplate of righteousness. You have given us Holy Spirit, and you have given us Your Word. And your Word will not depart out of our mouths, or the mouths of our children or our children's children from now on and forever. Amen

Day 210: Isaiah 49-53
Saturday Jul 29, 2023

This is Day 210. Today we are reading Isaiah 49-53
----
Father God, such mixed emotions reading these passages of the prophet Isaiah. We are brought to tears when we read about the Jesus, our Messiah, and how he was destined to suffer and to die for us. He was without sin, but he became sin for us. He was beaten, and took on all manner of sickness and disease until he was no longer recognizable... all for us. He bore our iniquities. He took on our guilt and our shame. He poured out his soul even to death. But the story didn't end there. He took our place in hell. And he defeated the enemy and death and rose again. And because he lives, we have life everlasting through him. We are so, so grateful, Father, for such an incredible sacrifice, for such amazing love. We can never say thank you or praise you enough. Amen

Day 206: Isaiah 37-39 and Psalm 76
Tuesday Jul 25, 2023
Tuesday Jul 25, 2023
Today on Meditating the Word, Hezekiah consults Isaiah, Hezekiah's prayer, Sennacherib's defeat and death, Hezekiah's sickness and recovery, and Hezekiah shows off his treasures to the envoys of Babylon.
This is Day 206. Today we are reading Isaiah 37-39 and praying Psalm 76
----
Father God, We learn some valuable lessons from King Hezekiah. He lived a life mostly devoted to you. When he was threatened by Assyria, he sent to the prophet, and he spread out the letter, his concerns, before You in Your presence and prayed. And You delivered him. Then when he was sick and about to die, he cried out to You, and You showed him mercy and added years to his life. But then he allowed pride in earthly riches to cloud his judgment. And in his boasting and showing off, he put the nation and all its people at risk. Father, help us to always remain humble before You, and to always value our relationship with You over the things of this world. If we have anything to boast about, it's that You have redeemed us. Thank You, Father. Amen
