Episode 352: Deuteronomy 4

Today's Prayer Meditation is on Deuteronomy 4
Father, I listen carefully to your Word. I know that your Word is life. It allows me to live in the promises you have made. I cannot add to or subtract from your Word; it is perfect. It is the instruction manual for my life. I will obey and follow the instructions you have given me. I am faithful to you, Father. 
I follow your Word, and you give me wisdom and understanding. You are near to me when I call. As near as my own breath.
I watch what I do and I am careful with my very life. I will never forget everything that you have done for me. The memories will not escape from my mind as long as I live. I will pass them on to my children and grandchildren. I will teach them to live in awe and reverence of you, Father. 
I will not idolize anything or anyone but you, Father. Not man, woman, an animal on the ground, a bird in the sky, or a fish in the deepest sea. 
When I look up into the sky, I am not seduced by the sun, moon and stars -- all the forces of heaven. They are not to be worshipped or followed. They have no hidden wisdom for my life. You created them all for me. You alone are worthy of my praise. You rescued me from the enemy. You purified me and made me your very own, your special possession. I will not forget the covenant you made with me. You are a jealous God, a devouring, holy fire.
I search for an ever closer relationship with you, Father, with all my heart and soul. You are a compassionate, merciful God. You won't abandon me or forget the solemn covenant you have made. You will keep it. 
I could search all of history, from the time you created people on the earth until now; I could search from one end of the heavens to the other, and find no other god who even comes close to you. You spoke to Israel out of the fire, and now you speak to me from your Holy Spirit living within me. No other god, no other religion can boast such a thing. 
You are God, and there is no other. You gave me your written Word, so you could instruct me. And you have given me Holy Spirit to teach me all things. You chose to bless me.
I will keep this firmly in my mind: I know with every fiber of my being, that you and no one else are God both in heaven and on earth. You have promised that if I obey you and follow your Word, all will be well with me and my descendants. I will enjoy a long life living in a state of your favor. 
So be it.

Episode 351: Lamentations 3

Today's Prayer Meditation is on Lamentations 3
Your faithful love is enduring, Father. It never ends. Your compassion is inexhaustible and your mercies never cease. Great is your faithfulness, as broad as the day. Your mercies begin afresh each morning. I have courage because you are my inheritance. I put my hope in you.
You are good to me, Father, because I depend on you and I search for you wholeheartedly. It is good for me to wait quietly for your salvation. You will make things right again. It is good to submit to the yoke of your discipline.
I sit alone patiently in the silence beneath your demands. I fall face down before you. There is hope at last. I turn the other cheek to those who strike me, and I accept the insults of my enemies. 
I am kept in your care, you have not abandoned me. Though I may experience grief, you show compassion because of the greatness of your unfailing love. Keeping me down is not your desire or the way of your heart. You don't want me to suffer or sorrow.
I search out my thoughts and examine my ways. I turn to you, Father. I lift my heart and my hands to you in praise and supplication and confess my sins and rebellion. 
I called on your name, Father, from deep within the pit. And you heard me when I cried for help. You came when I called, and told me not to be afraid. You took up my cause and you have been my champion. You came to my defense. You paid the price and redeemed my life. 
So be it.

Episode 350: Jeremiah 51

Today's Prayer Meditation is on Jeremiah 51
Father, you alone are powerful enough to create the earth. You alone are wise enough to hold it all together and preserve it. With your understanding, you stretched out the heavens. No one else could do what you have done. Your voice thunders through the sky, and the heavens roar with rain. You summon the clouds to build up over the earth. The rain falls and the lightning flashes at your command. You release the wind from your storehouses.
All of humanity is foolish and bankrupt of knowledge. Those who make idols of anything manmade, are disgraced and shamed by their creations. They are totally worthless, their carefully shaped works are a fraud. These idols have no breath or power. They are ridiculous lies. They will all be destroyed by your holy fire. 
But Father, you are no idol fashioned by human hands or created by human imagination. You are the Creator of everything that exists, including humanity. And I am your special possesion, appointed through the blood of Jesus to be a joint heir. You are the God of Angel Armies.
You have called me out of the darkness and into your marvelous light. I came running to you. I am not afraid. Even though I hear rumors of wars and more wars that keep coming year by year. I will not get caught up in the destruction. I will not lose heart or give in to fear and panic when rumors fly and violence erupts in the world. Nations will fight against nations. 
But I will rejoice. For the time of Christ's coming is at hand.
So be it.

Episode 349: Jeremiah 33

Today's Prayer Meditation is on Jeremiah 33
Father, you made the earth. You formed it and established it. You are the Lord, my God. When I call to you, you answer me and you tell me great and unsearchable things I do not know; things beyond what I can even imagine. 
You bring health and healing. You healed me and I enjoy abundant peace and security. You rebuilt my life on a firm foundation. You released me from captivity and cleansed me from all the sin I committed against you. You forgave all my sins of rebellion against you. 
I give you all my praise and all the honor. You have given me great joy and a sweet-sounding name. I am in awe of the abundant prosperity and peace you provide.
I give thanks to you, Father, the Lord Almighty. You are good and your love endures forever. Everything the enemy destroyed, you have restored. 
You fulfill all of the good promises you make. 
You made a righteous Branch sprout from David's line. Jesus, the Messiah. He does only what is just and right. He does only what he sees you do. He has saved me and redeemed me. I live in safety because of my Lord, my righteous savior.
Your covenant with me is as sure as the covenant with day and night. They will never cease to come at their appointed time. And your covenant with me will never be broken. 
You have restored me. You shower me with your compassion and favor.
So be it.

Episode 348: Jeremiah 32

Today's Prayer Meditation is on Jeremiah 32
Father, you made the heavens and earth with your outstretched arm and your enormous power. Nothing is too hard for you. You show loyal, unfailing love and endless mercy to thousands. But the laws you set in motion, seedtime and harvest, also bring  consequences for our sins; the damaging effects of one generation falling upon the next. You are the great and powerful God, the Lord of Heaven’s Armies. You have all wisdom and do great and mighty miracles. You see all that happens on this earth. Nothing is hidden from your sight. 
You performed miraculous signs and wonders in the land of Egypt—things still remembered to this day! And you continue to do great miracles all around the world. You have made your name famous.
You brought Israel out of Egypt with mighty signs and wonders, with a strong hand and a powerful arm, and with overwhelming terror. You gave the people of Israel the land that you had promised their ancestors long before—an abundant land flowing with milk and honey. They conquered it as you led them and they lived in it.
You are the Lord God of all the world. Nothing is too difficult for you. 
You diligently teach me. I listen and learn from your instruction. And I obey your word. 
You let me live in peace and safety under your covenant of protection. I am yours and you are my God. You have given me one purpose, one desire in my heart: to worship you forever, for my good and for the good of all my descendants. You have made an everlasting covenant with me: you will never stop blessing me with good things. You have placed a desire in my heart to worship you, and I will never leave you. You find great joy doing good things for me. You have faithfully and wholeheartedly planted me anew in the land of your promises. You have restored prosperity to me. 
You will not stop until you have done all the good you have promised. 
So be it.

Episode 347: Jeremiah 31

Today's Prayer Meditation is on Jeremiah 21
I am yours and you are my God. You saved me from my destructions, and in you, I have found favor and blessings. You have given me rest. 
You love me with an everlasting love. With unfailing love and forgiveness, you drew me close to you. You rebuilt the ruins of my life. I am happy again and dance for joy.
I plant vineyards and eat from my own garden. I come into your presence and I worship you, Father. 
I sing and shout with praise and joy in my heart. You have saved me. Tears of joy stream down my face, as you lead me home with great care. I walk beside quiet streams and on smooth paths where I will not stumble. 
You watch over me as a shepherd watches his flock. You have redeemed me. I sing songs of joy and I shine radiantly because of your good gifts. 
You bless me with an abundant harvest. My life is like a lush, well-watered garden. All my sorrows are gone. I dance for joy. You have turned my mourning into joy. You comfort me and you have exchanged my sorrow for rejoicing. I enjoy abundance and feast on your good gifts.
I weep no longer, for you have given me a great reward. There is hope for my future. You discipline me when I need it, like a calf that needs training for the yoke. But when I turn to you again, you restore me. You alone are the Lord my God. I turned away from you, but then I was sorry when I understood what I had done. In shame and regret, I kicked myself for my stupidity. I was thoroughly ashamed for the disgraceful things I did in my younger days. 
But you never abandoned me. You never forgot me. I am still your darling child. You still love me. You longed for me and had mercy on me. 
I was weary, and you gave me rest. I was sorrowing, and you gave me joy. You refreshed my soul. You deliberately plant and build me up. You made a new covenant with me, not like the one you made with Israel of old when you brought them out of Egypt. You have put your instructions deep within me. You have written them on my heart. The veil between us is gone and I now know you intimately. I am yours and you are my God. 
You forgave my sins and will never remember them again. 
Father, you provide the sun to light the day and the moon and stars to light the night, and you stir the sea into roaring waves. You are the God of Angel Armies. 
You would no sooner reject me than you would abolish the laws of nature. Just as the heavens cannot be measured and the foundations of the earth cannot be explored, so you will not consider casting me away.
So be it.

Episode 346: Jeremiah 30

Today's Prayer Meditation is on Jeremiah 30
You freed me from captivity and restored me to your kingdom realm. You broke the yoke off my neck and tore off my bonds. No longer am I a slave to sin. I serve you, Father, and Jesus my Messiah and King.
I am not afraid, nor will I be troubled. You saved me and brought me peace and security. Why should I be afraid of men? You are with me and protect me. You guide me and you correct me. 
My wounds were incurable and my shattered pieces were beyond repair. There was no one to plead my cause, no healing for my injury, no relief for my affliction. The allies I loved and trusted had forgotten me and cared nothing for me. My guilt was great and my sins were many.
But you restored me to health and healed my wounds. You restored what the enemy took from me. You rebuilt my life. You care for me.
I sing songs of thanksgiving to you, Father. Because of you, I rejoice. Your favor and blessing have brought me increase and honor. You have established my life. You have brought me near to you, and I will remain close by your side, totally devoted to you. I am yours and you are my God.
You will not turn back until you have fully accomplished the purposes of your heart.
So be it.

Episode 345: Jeremiah 29

Today's Prayer Meditation is on Jeremiah 29
I work for the peace and prosperity of the city where you have sent me, Father. I pray for my country, my city, my community, my neighborhood and the people who live here. My welfare is interwoven with the welfare of this nation, and of this city. If there is peace in the nation, I will enjoy the benefits of living in that peace. I will prosper where I have been planted. 
I do not listen to false prophets and fortune-tellers. They cannot trick me with their dreams and interpretations and prophecies. I know they are only telling lies in your name, Father. You have not sent them. Their words do not line up with scripture. They do not know you. 
Once I lived in bondage, but you came and did all the good things that you promised. You brought me home to you again. 
For you know the plans you have for me, Father, plans for peace, not evil, to give me a future and hope. I will never forget that, but will cling to your promises.
When I pray, you listen. I seek for you intently, wholeheartedly, and I find you. You ended my captivity and have made me prosperous. You have restored what the enemy had taken. I trust in you and in your timing.
When you speak, I listen, Father. I read and study your word. I sit in the stillness and listen for your voice. 
So be it.

Episode 344: Jeremiah 23

Today's Prayer Meditation is on Jeremiah 23
You gathered together the remnant of your flock from other nations. You brought me back to your sheepfold, my home pasture. You have made me fruitful, and have brought me increase. You have appointed responsible shepherds, Father; ministers of your word to instruct and equip me. I have nothing to fear. You care so much for your people, that you don't want even a single one to be lost or missing. You leave the 99 to bring back the one. 
You raised up a righteous descendant from King David's line. Your very own son. He rules with wisdom and does what is just and right. The Lord is my Righteousness. I have been saved and I live in safety.
Father, the earth has an abundance of the false prophets. The land is full of adultery and it lies under a curse. The land itself is in mourning. The people do evil and abuse the power they have. 
Even the priests and prophets are ungodly, wicked men. But the paths they take are slippery. They will be chased through the dark and there they will fall. Disaster will come upon them, as it does for all who forsake your ways. 
I do not listen to these prophets when they prophesy to me, attempting to fill me with their empty words and futile hopes. They are making up everything they say. They do not speak for you, Father. They tell people they will suffer no consequences for their behavior that goes against your word. They say no harm will come their way.
But they haven't been in your presence, Father, to hear what you are really saying. They don't even care enough to listen.
You have not sent these prophets, even though they claim to speak for you. You have given them no message, yet they go on prophesying. 
I know they have not stood before you and listened to you, or they would speak your words. They would turn people from their evil ways and deeds. 
Father, you are a God close at hand and a God of the farthest reaches at the same time. No one can hide from you. You see what happens in secret. You are everywhere in all the heavens and earth.
How long, Father, will they tell lies in your name? How long will this go on? If they are prophets, they are prophets of deceit, inventing everything they say. 
But while these false prophets tell their dreams, I will faithfully proclaim your every word with unshakable faith. There is a difference between straw and grain. Your words burn like fire. They are like a mighty hammer that smashes a rock to pieces.
Whenever someone says they have a prophecy from you, Father, my guard will go up. Many are those who use that phrase only to give authority to their own ideas. In truth, they are turning your words upside down, twisting them to fit their own philosophy. But you will make them an object of ridicule, and their names will be infamous throughout the ages.
You are my God, the living God, the God of Angel Armies. I will judge every word I hear against your word. Only what lines up with what you have said, Father, will I take to heart. 
So be it.

Today's Prayer Meditation is on Jeremiah 18 and 20
Father, as the clay is in the potter's hand, so I am in your hand. I turned from my evil ways and I do what is right in your sight. I do not stubbornly follow my own desires. They lead only to death and destruction. 
I will continue to walk on your ancient highways rather than the muddy paths of my own making. I take the high road of obedience and walk in the ancient path of blessing, rather than the ruts of rebellion. 
The enemy was out to get me, repaying evil for good. He dug a pit to kill me and hid traps along my path. But you keep me safe. 
You are stronger than I am. You are all consuming. Your word burns in my heart like a fire. It is like a fire in my bones. I would wear myself out if I tried to hold it in. I couldn't do it. 
You stand beside me like a great warrior. Before you my persecutors stumble. They cannot win. They will fail and be thoroughly humiliated. Their dishonor will never be forgotten. 
My life was filled with trouble, sorrow and shame, but you came and rescued me.  Though I was poor and needy, you rescued me from the oppressor.
Oh God of Angel Armies, you test the righteous, you see my deepest thoughts and secrets. You know my heart. I have committed my cause and my future to you. 
I sing to you, Father, and praise your name.
So be it.
