Today's meditation is on 1 Corinthians Chapter 2
Father God, I don't pretend to be an expert, or use eloquent speech and lofty wisdom to tell people about your plan for salvation. I forget everything except Jesus Christ, the one crucified. I am consumed by that one topic. My message is plain. I often feel inadequate and approach others with humility and meekness, filled with reverence for you. I tremble under the sense of the importance of my words. I don't attempt to sway people to believe in you with persuasive arguments. Rather than using clever and persuasive speeches, I rely only on the power of your Holy Spirit. I do not trust in human wisdom, but only in your almighty power.
Yet when I am among fellow believers, I love to speak about the deep things of your Word, in all of it's magnificent layers. This isn't a worldly wisdom which is soon forgotten, but your plan that was previously hidden. The plan of redemption that you made before the world began to bring us into glory. If it had been understood, then the rulers of this world would never have crucified your son, my glorious Lord.
Father, I know that no eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind can even imagine what you have prepared for me and for all those who love you.
But you now unveil these profound realities to me by your Spirit. For your Spirit searches out everything and reveals your inmost heart and deepest mysteries. No one can know my thoughts but my own spirit, and no one can know your thoughts except your own Spirit, Father. I did not receive the spirit of this world system, but the Holy Spirit, your spirit, God, so I could understand and experience all that your grace has lavished upon me.
When I share these realities, it is with the words imparted to me by the Holy Spirit, not with words taught by human wisdom. I join together Spirit-revealed truths with Spirit-revealed words. Father, I know that people who aren’t spiritual, who live on an entirely human level, can’t receive these truths from your Spirit. It all sounds foolish to them. And because they can't understand it, they reject it, because these truths can only be discovered by the illumination of your Spirit. Through your Spirit, Father, I can evaluate all things, but I cannot be evaluated by others only by you. For, who can know your thoughts? Who knows enough to become your counselor?
But you give me revelation knowledge of your Word, Father, for you have given me the mind of Christ. I possess Christ's perceptions.
Until next time, be blessed and be a blessing.

Saturday Mar 19, 2022
Saturday Mar 19, 2022
Today's meditation is on 1st Corinthians Chapter 1
I was chosen by you, God, invited to be a member of your family. I have been made pure, set apart. I call upon the name of Jesus Christ my Lord.
Father God, you have given me all of your blessings, joyous grace and endless peace of heart and mind are mine continuously through Jesus.
I can never stop thanking you for all the wonderful gifts you have given me, now that I am in Christ. You have given me free and open access to your grace. I have been made extravagantly rich in every way. I have been endowed with a wealth of inspired utterance and the riches that come from my intimate knowledge of Jesus.
The reality of the truth of Christ is strengthened through my experience of him. What your Word said Christ could do for me has happened. You are faithful to your promises.
Now I have every grace and blessing. I am not lacking any spiritual gift, for you have supplied the power for doing your will during this time of waiting for the return of Jesus Christ, your Son. You have guaranteed right up to the end that I will be counted free from all sin and guilt on that day when he returns. You will keep me steady and strong to the very end, making my character mature so I will be found innocent on that day. God, you are forever faithful. I know you will surely do this for me, for you always do what you say, and you are the one who invited me into this wonderful friendship with your Son, even Christ my Lord.
I do not argue with my brothers and sisters, but promote real harmony between us, living in unity. I put to rest any division that attempts to tear us apart. We are of one mind, united in thought and purpose, living in perfect harmony. There is a consistent choreography among us, having a common perspective and shared values. We are all followers of Christ, and members of his body.
There is mighty power in the simple message of the cross of Christ, philosophical arguments only empty the cross of its true power. I trust in the all-sufficient cross of Christ alone.
Jesus died to save me. And this simple message, the good news of the gospel, is your mighty power released within me. God, you will destroy all human plans of salvation no matter how wise they seem to be, and ignore the best ideas of men, even the most brilliant of them. The wisdom of this world is utter foolishness.
In your wisdom, God, you saw to it that the world would never find you through human brilliance. Then you stepped in and saved me, and all those who believe your message, which the world calls foolish and silly.
It seems foolish to those who want a miraculous sign as proof that what is preached is true; and it is foolish to those who believe only what agrees with their philosophy and seems wise to them.
But I preach the crucified Messiah, and they are either offended or say it’s all nonsense. But God, you have opened the eyes of those you called to salvation, both Jews and Gentiles, to see that Christ is your mighty power, your true wisdom, and the Messiah. Christ himself is the center of your wise plan for our salvation. This so-called “foolish” plan of yours is far wiser than the wisest plan of the wisest man, and in your weakness—Christ dying on the cross—is far more strength than in any man.
When you called me, I didn't have a big name or wealth. I wasn't a wise scholar, by human standards, and I wasn't in a position of power. Instead, you deliberately chose to use ideas that the world considers foolish, and the people that are considered to have little worth in order to shame those people considered by the world as wise and great. God, you chose a plan despised by the world, counted as nothing at all, and used it to bring down to nothing what the world considers great, so that there would be no place for prideful boasting in your presence.
God, it is from you alone, that I have my life through Christ Jesus. Jesus showed us your plan of salvation; he was the one who made me acceptable to you; he made me pure and holy and gave himself to purchase my salvation. He is my wisdom, my virtue, my holiness and my redemption. If I'm going to boast, I will boast only of what the Lord has done.
Until next time, be blessed and be a blessing.

Today's meditation is on Psalm 149 & 150
I praise you, Lord.
I will sing a brand new song to you. I will sing your praises in the assembly of the faithful, so everyone will hear how wonderful you are.
I rejoice in you, my Maker. I sing joyful praises to you, my King.I praise your name with dancing, accompanied by tambourine and harp. For you delight in me. You adorn me with your beauty and crown me with victory. I rejoice that you honor me. My joyful praises will rise even while others sleep.
Your high and holy praises fill my mouth, they are like a two-edged sword in my hands. Praise is my weapon of war, it's how I fight my battles. You have given me glorious privilege, and I am your faithful, praise-filled warrior.
I praise you in your sanctuary, Lord. I praise you in your heavenly stronghold.I praise you for your mighty miracles, and for your magnificent greatness.
I praise you with trumpets blasting, with music and dancing and loud clashing cymbals. I make a joyful noise to you Lord.
Let everything that breathes sing your praises.

Episode 158: Psalm 148
Thursday Mar 17, 2022
Thursday Mar 17, 2022
Today's meditation is on Psalm 148
I praise you, Lord.
I join in the praise from the heavens. The skies are filled with praise and shouts of glory.
All the angels praise you, Lord. I join the chorus with all the armies of heaven.
The sun and moon praise you. I join in praise with the twinkling stars of light. The cosmic chorus thunders your praise.
Let every created thing give praise to you, Lord, for you spoke and created everything. From nothing to something, it all came into being. You established the cosmos to last forever. And you stand behind your commands. Your decree will never be revoked.
I join the parade of praise with all the earth; with the mighty creatures of the ocean depths. Lightening and hail, snow and clouds, wind and weather -- they all obey you. I join in the melody with the mountains and hills, trees of the forest and field, and harmonize with their praise. The wild animals and all livestock, small scurrying animals and birds -- let everything on earth praise your holy name.
I join in the praise from the kings of the earth and all people, rulers and judges of the earth, young men and young women, old men and children, everyone everywhere.
I join in the orchestra of praise. For your name is great, and it is the only name I raise. Your stunning splendor ascends higher than the heavens and towers over the earth.
You have anointed me with strength and authority, showing me your great favor. I am close to your heart and I will remain faithful to you, Lord.
I praise you, Lord.
Until next time, be blessed and be a blessing.

Episode 157: Psalm 147

Wednesday Mar 16, 2022
Today's meditation is on Psalm 147
I praise you, Lord.
How good and beautiful it is to sing praises to you. How delightful and how fitting. Let my praise make me lovely before you and bring you great delight.
You spanned the distance between us, and brought me back into right relationship with you. You healed my broken heart, and bandaged my wounds. You count the stars and set each one in it's place, calling them by their names.
How great you are, Lord. Your power is absolute. There is nothing it can't accomplish. Your understanding is beyond comprehension. You have infinite understanding of everything.
You support and strengthen the humble and bring down the proud.
I sing out songs of thanksgiving to you, Lord. I sing praises to your holy name with melodies overflowing.
You fill the sky with clouds, sending showers to water the earth, and make the grass grow in mountain pastures. You give food to the wild animals and feed the young ravens from the palm of your hand when they cry.
I don't find security in my own personal strength. My might does not impress you. Your delight is in my fear and reverence of you. You show favor to me as I wait for your tender embrace. I put my hope in your unfailing love.
I glorify you, Lord and praise you with my highest praise. You have surrounded me with your strength, and blessed my children. You bring me peace, and satisfy my every need. You send out your orders throughout the world. Your words run as swift messengers, bringing them to pass.
You send snow like white wool and paint the landscape with frost. You hurl hail like stones and cause waters to freeze before winter's icy blast. Then, at your command, it all melts away.
You have revealed your words to me, Lord. Your life-giving instructions are written in your scriptures for me to follow.
I praise you, Lord.
Until next time, be blessed and be a blessing.

Today's meditation is on Psalm 146
I praise you, Lord.
With my innermost being, with all that I am, I praise you.I will spend my life praising you, Lord. I will sing praises to you, Lord, as long as I have breath.
I don’t put my confidence in powerful people; there is no help for me there. Even great leaders fail and fall. When they breathe their last, they return to the earth, and all their plans die with them.
But happy and blessed am I because you are my helper. My hope is in you alone. Lord, you made heaven and earth, the sea, and everything in them.
You are faithful and keep every promise you have spoken forever. You saved me from the oppressor and you provide for my every need. You set me free from bondage.
Lord, you opened my eyes to new revelations of truth. You lifted me up when I was weighed down under the burdens and cares of the world because of your steadfast love for me.
Lord you protect me and care for me. You bless everything I set my hands to and you frustrate the plans of the enemy.
Lord, you reign forever. You are my God throughout all time and eternity.
I praise you, Lord.
Until next time, be blessed and be a blessing.

Sunday Mar 13, 2022
Today's meditation is on Psalm 144
I praise you, Lord. You are my rock. There is only one strong, safe, and secure place for me. You alone give me strength to endure. You train me for spiritual war, and outfit me for battle with your armor. You are my shelter of love and my fortress of faith. You wrap yourself around me as a secure shield. You are my loving ally, my tower of safety, my rescuer. I hide myself in the God who subdues enemies before me.
O Lord, who am I that you should notice me, a mere mortal, yet your thoughts are constantly on me. In this life, I'm like a faint whisper, a mere breath of air, and my days on earth are like a passing shadow.
Yet, you opened the heavens, Lord, and came down. You conquered the enemy. You reached down from heaven and rescued me from bondage.
I will sing a new song to you, O God! I will sing your praises. For you have made me victorious. You rescued me from a life of sin and death. You saved me from the dark power of the enemy. He is a liar, and the father of all lies.
You delivered me. Because of your love and mercy, my descendants will flourish in their youth like well-nurtured plants. The women of my family will be like graceful pillars, carved to beautify a palace. Our barns will be filled with crops of every kind. The flocks in our fields will multiply by the thousands, even tens of thousands, and our oxen will be loaded down with produce.
You are my protector, Lord. No enemy will break through our walls, we will not be taken into captivity, there will be no cries of alarm in our town squares.
What bliss I experience when these blessings fall. I am happy to love and serve my God.
Until next time, be blessed and be a blessing.

Saturday Mar 12, 2022
Saturday Mar 12, 2022
Today's meditation is on Psalm 142 and 143.
Lord, I come boldly before you with my requests. You are merciful. I know I can spill out my heart and tell you about my troubles. When I was desperate, overwhelmed and about to give up, you were the only one there to help. You gave me a way of escape. You alone know the path I should take.
You care for me. You are my hiding place, my place of refuge. You are all I really want in life. You are my hope and my salvation. You rescue me from my persecutors. You have set me free and placed me in the middle of your chosen ones. I am surrounded by the godly. You are so good to me.
You hear my prayers, Lord; and you listen to my pleas. You answer me because you are faithful to your promises. You do not put me on trial, because you have redeemed me and blotted out my transgressions. You have made me righteous in Christ Jesus.
Even though the enemy tries to force me to live in the shadows of darkness, I do not lose hope and I do not fear. I remember your faithfulness. I ponder all your great works - the glorious miracles of days gone by. I often think of all the wonders you have done.
I lift my hands to you in prayer. I thirst for more of you as parched land thirsts for rain.
You are always close to me, listening and answering my fervent prayers. You never turn away from me.
Let the dawning day bring me revelation of your tender, unfailing love. Give me light for my path and show me where to walk, for I give myself to you. I trust in you alone. You rescue me from the enemy, Lord, because I hide myself in you.
Teach me to do your will, for you are my God. Your gracious Spirit is all I need so lead me on good paths that are pleasing to you. You are my one and only God. For the glory of your name, Lord, you preserve my life. You are true to your promises. In your unfailing love, you silence the enemy. Before the foundations of the world, you chose me and I am yours.
Until next time, be blessed and be a blessing.

Today's meditation is on Psalm 141
O Lord, you are so faithful. When I call to you, you listen and come to rescue me. You are always close by my side. You accept my prayer as an offering of fragrant incense, and my upraised hands as an evening offering. I surrender myself in worship to you.
Give me grace, O Lord, to guard my lips from speaking what is wrong. Guide me away from temptation. Don’t let me drift toward evil or take part in acts of wickedness. Save me from sinful habits and from keeping company with those who are experts in evil. Don’t let me share in their sin in any way.
When one of your godly ones corrects me, or one of your faithful ones rebukes me, I will accept it like an honor I cannot refuse. It will be like healing medicine that I swallow without an offended heart. I will not refuse it. Even if they are mistaken, I will continue to pray.
I pray constantly, binding on earth everything that is bound in heaven and loosing on earth everything that is loosed in heaven. Those who listen to my words will find them true.
I look to you for help. You are my Lord and my God. I only have eyes for you. You are my refuge; you protect me from the enemy. I hide myself in you, and you keep me from the traps that have been set for me, from the snares of the evil one. You are my safe passage of escape.
Until next time, be blessed and be a blessing.
