Meditating The Word
This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. Joshua 1:8 Meditate means to muse, talk about, consider, meditate, sigh, sing. Our words have power (the power of life and death are in the tongue), but God‘s Word isn‘t just powerful, it‘s anointed. What if instead of speaking what we think about ourselves, we spoke God‘s Word over ourselves instead as a form of meditation? What if we personalized and prayed scripture as a form of daily meditation? Well, as God told Joshua, I believe that THEN you will make your way prosperous and THEN you shall have good success.

Today's Prayer Meditation is on Deuteronomy 31 and 32
Father, I am strong and courageous, because you go before me. I am not afraid and do not panic. You will never fail me or abandon me.
I will not fear or be discouraged, for you are with me.
You have brought me into the land of your promises. You have made me prosperous. You take care of my every need.
Your teaching falls on me like rain; and settles on me like the dew. Your words fall like rain on tender grass, like gentle showers on young plants.
I proclaim your name, Father. How glorious you are! You are the Rock. Your deeds are perfect. Everything you do is just and fair. You are a faithful God who does no wrong. You are just and upright.
You are the one who created me. You made me and established me. I belong to you. I am your special possession. You surround me with your favor and watch over me. You guard me as you would guard your own eyes. Like an eagle that rouses her chicks and hovers over her young, you spread your wings to take me up and carry me safely on your pinions.
You alone are my guide. I follow no one else. You nourish me with honey from the rock and olive oil from the stony ground. You feed me yogurt from the herd and milk from the flock, together with the fat of lambs.
I will never abandon you, or make light of the Rock of my salvation. I will not neglect the Rock who fathered me, or forget the God who gave me birth.
You are the I Am. There is no other god but you. You give life and healing.
The heavens rejoice, and all of your angels worship you.
Your instructions are not empty words; they are my very life. By obeying them, I enjoy a long, healthy and prosperous life.
So be it.
Until next time, be blessed and be a blessing.

Today's Prayer Meditation is on Deuteronomy 29 and 30.
I have seen with my own eyes your great strength, the miraculous signs, and the amazing wonders. You have given me a mind that understands, eyes that see, and ears that hear. You have provided for me in even the toughest times, so I would know that you are my God and the source of my supply.
I obey your word, Father, and you prosper me in everything I do. Your covenant was not made just for the Children of Israel, but for future generations. It was made for me.
I do not think I am safe when I follow the desires of my own stubborn heart. I know that there are consequences for my actions. And choosing to ignore your instructions is choosing to place myself under the curses.
I take your instructions to heart. I follow your Word with all my heart and all my soul. You have restored what the enemy took. You had mercy on me and brought me back into relationship with you. Even if I were banished to the ends of the earth, you would bring me back again. You have made me even more prosperous than my ancestors.
Father, you changed my heart and you will change the hearts of my descendants so we love you with all of our hearts and souls and so we may live.
You make me successful in everything you do. You increase my descendants, and you cause my business to produce abundant harvests. You delight in being good to me. I obey your voice and keep your Word, I have turned to you with all my heart and soul, and you delight in me.
Your requirements are not too difficult for me, and they are not beyond my reach. It is not kept in heaven, so distant that I must ask, ‘Who will go up to heaven and bring it down so I can hear it and obey?’ It is not kept beyond the sea, so far away that I must ask, ‘Who will cross the sea to bring it to me so I can hear it and obey?’ No, it is very close at hand; your Word is on my lips and in my heart so that I can do it.
You have given me a choice between life and death, between prosperity and disaster. You only ask that I love you, that I keep your Word and walk in your ways. And you bless me, Father.
You gave me the choice between life and death, between blessings and curses. I choose life, Father, so that I and my descendants might live. I love you, I obey you, and I commit myself firmly to you. This is the key to living a long, healthy and prosperous life.
So be it.
Until next time, be blessed and be a blessing.

Father, I obey your word and keep your commands. You are a God of love, mercy, grace and forgiveness. Obedience to your Word keeps me in the flow of your promises.
I am blessed in the city and blessed in the fields. The fruit of my body is blessed, as is the fruit of my land. I am blessed in my basket; it is full at harvest time, and blessed in my store; I always have more than enough.I am blessed coming in and blessed going out. Wherever I go and whatever I do, I am blessed.
When the enemy rises up against me, he attacks from one direction, but you scatter him from me in seven.
You command the blessing upon me in my storehouses and everything I set my hands to is blessed. You bless everything I do. You bless me where I am planted.
I obey your Word and walk in your ways, and you have established me as holy. People see that I am claimed by you.
You give me prosperity and make me abundant with goods, in the fruit of my body, in the fruit of my ground, and in all of my undertakings.
You open your good treasure to me, raining your favor down on my life. You bless all the work that I do.
I am so abundant, that I lend to others, and never need to borrow. You have made me the head and not the tail. I am always on top and never at the bottom.
All of these blessings are mine. I do not turn from your words to the right hand or to the left. I rely on no one and no thing but you, Father.
So be it.
Until next time, be blessed and be a blessing.

I love you, Father, and I obey your word. I have seen your greatness and your strong hand and powerful arm. I have seen miraculous signs and wonders that you have performed in my life and in the lives of others.
You care for me. You lead me through the difficulties in life. I will be careful to obey your word so I have the strength to live in your promises. You watch over me in every season.
I love you and serve you with all my heart and soul, and you send rains in their proper seasons -- the early rains and the latter rains -- so I enjoy abundant harvests from all of my labor. You provide for me abundantly, and I am satisfied. I have all I want and need.
I guard my heart and do not let it be deceived or turn away from you. I know that you alone are my source. There is no other god before you.
I commit myself wholeheartedly to your words. I keep them in front of me at all times. I meditate on them. They are posted in writing throughout my house. I teach these things to my descendants. I talk about your Word when we sit together in my home and when we walk together down the road. Your word is the last thing I talk about before going to bed and the first thing I talk about the next morning.
As long as the sky remains above the earth, I and my descendants will be blessed with a long life.
I show my love to you by walking in your ways and holding tightly to you. I am intentional about learning and remembering your ways. I live as you want me to live and I devote myself to you. No enemy can stand against me, because you are with me.
There are only two choices. I can live a blessed life, or I can live under the curses. So I obey you and enjoy all of the blessings you pour out on me. You delight to reward obedience. And you are entitled to my unswerving loyalty and devotion.
I choose life, Father. I choose to live in a state of your blessing and favor.
So be it.
Until next time, be blessed and be a blessing.

Father, you were the one who went ahead of me like a devouring fire to destroy the enemy. You conquered him and you redeemed me. You didn't do this because I am such a good person, or because I have such integrity. You did it to drive out wickedness and to fulfill your covenant.
You redeemed me by your mighty power and your strong hand. You overlooked my stubbornness and sin, and remembered your covenant promise. You called me your own, your special possession.
Your only requirement for me is that I fear you with awe and reverence, and that I live in a way that pleases you. Your desire is for me to love you and serve you with all my heart and soul, and to always obey your commands and decrees. Your commands are for my own good. By following them, I will live in your blessings and favor.
The highest heavens, the earth, and everything in it all belong to you, Father. Yet you chose me as the object of your love.
You are the God of gods and Lord of lords. You are the great God, the mighty and awesome God. You show no partiality and cannot be bribed. You ensure that orphans and widows receive justice. You show love to foreigners and give them food and clothing and expect me to do the same.
I fear you and worship you and I cling to you, Father. You alone are my God, the only one who is worthy of my praise. You do mighty miracles. You do great and amazing things for me.
So be it.
Until next time, be blessed and be a blessing.

I will worship and reverence you as long as I live. I will obey your commands and do what you instruct me to do, and I will enjoy a long life and all will go well with me.
You are Lord alone. I love you with all my heart, with all my soul and with all my strength. I commit myself wholeheartedly to following your Word. I talk about your Word with my children. I talk about it when I'm at home and when I'm on the road, when I'm going to bed and when I'm getting up. I keep your Word before me at all times. Written reminders of your promises and your faithfulness are posted throughout my house.
You give me harvests I did not plant. My home is richly stocked with goods I didn't produce. I drink from wells I didn't dig.
I diligently obey you and do what is right and good in your sight, and all goes well with me.
When my descendants ask about your Word, I will tell them about all the wonderful things you have done and I will tell them that obedience to you and your Word brings blessing and long life.
You have made me holy. I belong to you. You chose me to be your own special treasure. You chose me, not because of any special qualities I had, but simply because you love me. You rescued me with a strong hand from the enemy. You are indeed God. You are the faithful God who keeps his covenant for a thousand generations and you lavish your unfailing love on those who love you and obey you.
You have blessed me. You protect me from all sickness. I do not fear. Your strong hand and powerful arm will protect me. You are a great and awesome God. No one can stand against me, because you are with me.
I am careful to obey all the commands you have given. I remember how you led me through the difficulties in my life. I know that I don't live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from you, Father.
I walk in your ways and reverence you. You have brought me into your promises. I have plenty and there is nothing lacking. I give you praise, Father, for everything you have done for me.
I do not forget you in my plenty. I am not filled with pride. I remember that you are the one who recued me. You have provided everything I need for life and godliness. I haven't achieved wealth with my own strength and energy. You are the one who has given me the power to be successful in order to fulfill your convenant in the earth.
So be it.

Today's Prayer Meditation is on Deuteronomy 5
Father, you gave Moses the ten commandments, carving them onto stone with your finger. They are rules that every man, woman, and child should live by. I learned these commandments when I was young.
You are the Lord my God who rescued me from the hand of the enemy and released me from my captivity to sin.
I will have no other god but you. Your presence is enough.
I will not allow anything to take first place in my life before you. I will not idolize anyone or anything. My affection is only for you, father. You lavish unfailing love for a thousand generations on those who love you and obey you.
I will not misuse your name, using it lightly or flippantly or as a curse. Your name is sacred.
I will observe the sabbath day of rest. You created the heavens, the earth, and everything in them in six days, and rested on the seventh day, Father. And you ask me to do the same. It is a day to set aside for you and a day to be enjoyed.
I honor my father and my mother. This is the only commandment that came with a promise of blessing; that of a long, full life.
I will not murder.
I will not commit adultery.
I will not steal.
I will not testify falsely against another.
I will not covet the belongings of another.
I honor you, Father, my heart is true. I and my descendants will prosper forever. I will stay on the path that you have set before me to follow. I will not turn to the right or to the left. And I will live a long and prosperous life.
So be it.
Until next time, be blessed and be a blessing.

Today's Prayer Meditation is on Deuteronomy 4
Father, I listen carefully to your Word. I know that your Word is life. It allows me to live in the promises you have made. I cannot add to or subtract from your Word; it is perfect. It is the instruction manual for my life. I will obey and follow the instructions you have given me. I am faithful to you, Father.
I follow your Word, and you give me wisdom and understanding. You are near to me when I call. As near as my own breath.
I watch what I do and I am careful with my very life. I will never forget everything that you have done for me. The memories will not escape from my mind as long as I live. I will pass them on to my children and grandchildren. I will teach them to live in awe and reverence of you, Father.
I will not idolize anything or anyone but you, Father. Not man, woman, an animal on the ground, a bird in the sky, or a fish in the deepest sea.
When I look up into the sky, I am not seduced by the sun, moon and stars -- all the forces of heaven. They are not to be worshipped or followed. They have no hidden wisdom for my life. You created them all for me. You alone are worthy of my praise. You rescued me from the enemy. You purified me and made me your very own, your special possession. I will not forget the covenant you made with me. You are a jealous God, a devouring, holy fire.
I search for an ever closer relationship with you, Father, with all my heart and soul. You are a compassionate, merciful God. You won't abandon me or forget the solemn covenant you have made. You will keep it.
I could search all of history, from the time you created people on the earth until now; I could search from one end of the heavens to the other, and find no other god who even comes close to you. You spoke to Israel out of the fire, and now you speak to me from your Holy Spirit living within me. No other god, no other religion can boast such a thing.
You are God, and there is no other. You gave me your written Word, so you could instruct me. And you have given me Holy Spirit to teach me all things. You chose to bless me.
I will keep this firmly in my mind: I know with every fiber of my being, that you and no one else are God both in heaven and on earth. You have promised that if I obey you and follow your Word, all will be well with me and my descendants. I will enjoy a long life living in a state of your favor.
So be it.
Until next time, be blessed and be a blessing.

Your faithful love is enduring, Father. It never ends. Your compassion is inexhaustible and your mercies never cease. Great is your faithfulness, as broad as the day. Your mercies begin afresh each morning. I have courage because you are my inheritance. I put my hope in you.
You are good to me, Father, because I depend on you and I search for you wholeheartedly. It is good for me to wait quietly for your salvation. You will make things right again. It is good to submit to the yoke of your discipline.
I sit alone patiently in the silence beneath your demands. I fall face down before you. There is hope at last. I turn the other cheek to those who strike me, and I accept the insults of my enemies.
I am kept in your care, you have not abandoned me. Though I may experience grief, you show compassion because of the greatness of your unfailing love. Keeping me down is not your desire or the way of your heart. You don't want me to suffer or sorrow.
I search out my thoughts and examine my ways. I turn to you, Father. I lift my heart and my hands to you in praise and supplication and confess my sins and rebellion.
I called on your name, Father, from deep within the pit. And you heard me when I cried for help. You came when I called, and told me not to be afraid. You took up my cause and you have been my champion. You came to my defense. You paid the price and redeemed my life.
So be it.
Until next time, be blessed and be a blessing.

Today's Prayer Meditation is on Jeremiah 51
Father, you alone are powerful enough to create the earth. You alone are wise enough to hold it all together and preserve it. With your understanding, you stretched out the heavens. No one else could do what you have done. Your voice thunders through the sky, and the heavens roar with rain. You summon the clouds to build up over the earth. The rain falls and the lightning flashes at your command. You release the wind from your storehouses.
All of humanity is foolish and bankrupt of knowledge. Those who make idols of anything manmade, are disgraced and shamed by their creations. They are totally worthless, their carefully shaped works are a fraud. These idols have no breath or power. They are ridiculous lies. They will all be destroyed by your holy fire.
But Father, you are no idol fashioned by human hands or created by human imagination. You are the Creator of everything that exists, including humanity. And I am your special possesion, appointed through the blood of Jesus to be a joint heir. You are the God of Angel Armies.
You have called me out of the darkness and into your marvelous light. I came running to you. I am not afraid. Even though I hear rumors of wars and more wars that keep coming year by year. I will not get caught up in the destruction. I will not lose heart or give in to fear and panic when rumors fly and violence erupts in the world. Nations will fight against nations.
But I will rejoice. For the time of Christ's coming is at hand.
So be it.
Until next time, be blessed and be a blessing.

Meditating The Word
What if instead of speaking what we think about ourselves, we spoke God‘s Word over ourselves? What if we personalized and prayed scripture as a form of daily meditation?
That's the goal of this podcast. No filler, no ads... just God's Word personalized in the form of a daily confession.
