Meditating The Word

Today's Prayer Meditation is on Zechariah Chapters 9 and 10
I rejoice and shout in triumph. My king has come. You are righteous and victorious, yet you are humble, riding on a donkey, riding on a donkey's colt.
You bring peace. Your realm stretches from sea to sea, to the ends of the earth. You made a covenant with me, sealed with blood. You freed me from death and brought me back to a place of safety. You gave me hope. You have repaid two blessings for each of my troubles. 
The God of Angel Armies protects me. The enemy has been defeated. You rescued me like a shepherd rescues his sheep. I sparkle in the land like a jewel in a crown. 
I thrive on abundant harvests and flourish on the new wine of the Spirit.
I ask you for rain in the spring, for you make the storm clouds. You send showers of rain so that my field becomes a lush pasture. 
False gods give worthless advice, fortune-tellers predict only lies, and interpreters of dreams pronounce falsehoods that give no comfort. Truth and wisdom are found only in you, Father. 
You look after me like a shepherd looks after his flock. You make me strong and glorious, like a proud warhorse in battle. You make me into a mighty warrior, because you are with me as I fight.
You have saved me and strengthened me. You restored me because of your compassion. You are my God who hears my prayers.
You have made my heart happy as if by wine. My heart rejoices in you. When you whistle to me, I come running for you have redeemed me. 
You brought me safely through the sea of distress, for you held back the waves of the sea, and the waters dried up. The rule of darkness has ended. You have made me strong, and by your authority I go wherever I wish. 
So be it.

Today's Prayer Meditation is on Zechariah 7 and 8
Father, you ask that I judge fairly, and show mercy and kindness to others. You want me to free the oppressed and not to scheme against others. 
Your love is passionate and strong; You are consumed with passion for your people. So much, that you have chosen to dwell among us. 
Nothing is impossible for you. You rescued me and brought me close to you. I am yours, and you are faithful and just toward me. You are my God.
So I will be strong and finish the task you have given me. You have planted seeds of peace and prosperity for me. 
I reap abundant harvests. Blessings are my inheritance. You rescued me and made me both a symbol and a source of blessing. 
I am not afraid, but am strong in your might. 
You are determined to bless me. You only ask that I speak the truth, that I am just, and that the actions I take lead to peace. I hate the things you hate, Father. And I love truth and peace.
The time of fasting and mourning has ended. It is now time for festivals of joy and celebration. 
Others will see the blessings you have poured out on my life, and they will want your blessing too. They will say, Please let us walk with you, for we have heard that God is with you. 
So be it.

Today's Prayer Meditation is on Zechariah Chapters 1 through 4
I turned to you, Father, and you came running to meet me. I turned from my evil ways and practices. 
Your love is passionate and strong. And your desire for me is that I enjoy peace and security. You show mercy to me and you comfort me. I overflow with prosperity. You have chosen me as your own.
You are a protective wall of fire around me, and you are the glory in my midst. Anyone who harms me, harms your most precious possession. 
I shout and rejoice, because you have made your home in me. 
You snatched me out of the fire. You removed my filthy garments of self-righteousnes. You took away my sins and clothed me with your robe of righteousness. You placed a crown upon my head. You removed my sins in a single day.
I follow your ways and carefully serve you. You have given me the authority to use your name. It is not by force, nor by strength, but by your Spirit. Nothing, not even a mighty mountain, can stand in the way. It will become a level plain before me. 
I do not despise small beginnings, I know that you rejoice to see me begin to do your work.
So be it.

Today's Prayer Meditation is on Haggai
Father, I put you first. You said to seek your kingdom and the other things would be added to me. If my priorities are out of order, this is what happens: I plant much, but harvest little. I eat, but I am not satisfied. I drink, but I'm still thirsty. I put on clothes, but can't keep warm. My wages disappear as though I'm putting them in pockets full of holes.
If I need to make sure I'm putting first things first, all I have to do is look at what's happening to me.
So, I bring you my first fruits, Father. When I plant, I have an abundant harvest. I eat my fill and I am satisfied. I drink your living water, and my thirst is quenched. You have commanded your blessing upon my storehouses. 
I obey your word and I reverence you. I am not afraid, because you are with me. You are my strength. You fill my life with glory. 
The silver is yours. The gold is yours. I know the future will be even more glorious than the past. You bring peace. From this day onward, you will bless me. 
You give me honor. You make me like a signet ring upon your finger. You have chosen me. I am yours.
So be it!

Today's Prayer Meditation is on the Book of Zephaniah
I gather together with other believers, Father. I have repented. I humble myself before you and I follow your commands. I seek to do what is right and to live humbly. And you protect me. 
You visit me in kindness and restore my prosperity again. 
The wicked will receive the wages of their pride. All nations will bow before you and worship your name. 
I repent of my rebellion and listen to your words. I welcome your correction. I trust in you and draw near to you. 
Though evil is on every side, you are still here with me. You do no wrong. Day by day, you hand down justice, and you do not fail. But the wicked know no shame. 
I have reverence for you, Father, and listen to your warnings. I am patient and wait on you. 
You will purify the speech of all people, so we can all worship you together. I no longer need to be ashamed. My pride and arrogance are gone. There is no more haughtiness in me. I am lowly and humble and trust in your name. 
I eat and sleep in safety, and I am not afraid. 
I sing praises and shout aloud. I am glad and rejoice with all my heart. You are Emmanuel, God with us. My troubles are over, and I will never again fear disaster. I am not afraid, because you are with me. You are a mighty savior. You take delight in me with gladness. With your love, you calm all my fears. You rejoice over me with joyful songs. 
I will be disgraced no more. You have given me glory and fame. You brought me home to you. You have given me a good name, a name of distinction. You have restored my fortunes before my very eyes. 
So be it.

Today's Prayer Meditation is on the Book of Habakkuk
How long, Father, until you cleanse the earth? Violence is everywhere. I see destruction and violence all around. The earth is filled with people who love to argue and fight. At times it appears that the law has become paralyzed, and there is no justice in the courts. The wicked seem to outnumber the righteous, and they have perverted justice. Their strength is their god.
But you, Father, are holy and eternal. You are pure and cannot stand the sight of evil. You will not wink at their treachery or be silent while the wicked swallow up the righteous. 
I will study the vision you have spoken in your word. I write it plainly so that others can see and understand. Your word will be fulfilled. If it seems slow in coming, I will wait patiently, for it will surely take place and it will not be delayed. 
I live by my faithfulness to you. Earthly wealth will turn to ashes. But as the waters fill the sea, the earth will be filled with the awareness of your glory.
How foolish it would be to trust in my own creation. 
I have heard about you all of my life, Father. I am filled with awe by your amazing works and your unfailing mercy.
Your brilliant splendor fills the heavens, and the earth is filled with your praise. Your coming is as brilliant as the sunrise. Rays of light flash from your hands, where your awesome power is hidden. When you stop, the earth shakes. When you look, the nations tremble. You shatter the everlasting mountains and level the eternal hills. You are the Eternal One.
You struck the rivers and parted the seas. You sent your chariots of salvation. And brandished your bow and your quiver of arrows. You split open the earth with flowing rivers. The mountains watched and trembled. Onward swept the raging waters. The mighty deep cried out, lifting its hands in submission. The sun and moon stood still in the sky as your brilliant arrows flew and your glittering spear flashed.
You went out to rescue your chosen people, to save your anointed ones. You crushed the head of the enemy and stripped him from head to toe. You took the keys of death and hell from him. You trampled the sea with your horses, and the mighty waters piled high.
I will wait quietly for the coming day when you will return. I rejoice in you. I am joyful in the God of my salvation. You are my strength. You make me as surefooted as a deer, able to tread upon the heights.
So be it.

Today's Prayer Meditation is on the book of Nahum
Father, you are a jealous God. You do not tolerate anything that distracts from you. You are slow to get angry, but your power is great. You will not let the enemy go unpunished. 
You display your power in the whirlwind and the storm. The billowing clouds are the dust beneath your feet. At your command, the oceans dry up and the rivers disappear. The lush pastures fade and the green forests wither. 
In your presence the mountains quake, the hills melt away, and the earth trembles. The mountains crumble to dust in your presence. And I am overwhelmed with your majesty.
You are good, Father, a strong refuge and a safe shelter in times of trouble. You are always with me and I trust in you. 
You broke the yoke of bondage from my neck and tore off the chains of oppression. You brought me good news, a message of peace. I celebrate your salvation and righteousness, and I fulfill my vows. The enemy has been defeated. And I am completely free.

Today's Prayer Meditation is on the book of Micah.
I do what is right, and your words comfort me. 
You drew me to yourself. Bringing me back like a sheep in its pasture. You let me out of bondage and you guide me. You are my king. 
You have filled me with the power of your Spirit. I am filled with justice and strength to boldly declare the truth. I depend on you.
I go up to your holy mountain. There you teach me your ways and I walk in your paths. You mediate between peoples and settle disputes. We hammer our swords into plowshares and our spears into pruning hooks. We no longer fight against each other or train for war. 
I live in peace and prosperity, and there is nothing to fear. You are the God of Angel Armies and you have promised me peace. I will follow you forever and ever. 
You drew me to yourself. You are my king forever. 
You rescued me and redeemed me from the grip of the enemy. 
Though Bethlehem was only a small village among all the people of Judah, you raised up a ruler there. His origins were in the distant past. He came on your behalf.
He stood to lead his flock with your strength and in your majesty, Father. His name is Jesus, the Messiah, Emmanuel, God with us. He is highly honored. He is the source of peace. 
And now no one can hold your people back. You have made me like a lion among the animals of the forest, like a strong young lion among the flocks of sheep and goats. You enable me to stand strong and fearless against the enemy. 
You have told me what is good, and this is what you require of me: to do what is right, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with my God.
As for me, I look to you alone for help. I wait confidently for you, and you certainly hear me. Though I fall, I will rise again. Though I sit in darkness, you are my light. 
You bring me into the light, and I see your righteousness. Everyone can see that you are on my side. 
You have rebuilt my life and extended my borders. You have given me honor. 
You protect me with your shepherd’s staff; you lead me. I graze in fertile pastures. You do mighty miracles for me. Those who have seen what you have done stand amazed. 
There is no other God like you, who pardons guilt and overlooks sin. You delight in showing unfailing love. You have compassion on me. 
You have trampled my sins under your feet and thrown them into the depths of the ocean. You have shown me your faithfulness and unfailing love as you promised long ago.
So be it.

I cried out to you in my great trouble, Father, and you answered me. I called to you from the land of the dead, and you heard me. I sank down to the heart of the sea.The mighty waters engulfed me; I was buried beneath the wild and stormy waves. But I turned my face toward you. 
I sank beneath the waves, and the waters closed over me. Seaweed wrapped itself around my head. I sank down to the very roots of the mountains. I was imprisoned in the earth, whose gates lock shut forever.
But you, Father, snatched me from the jaws of death. As my life was slipping away, I turned my face to you. My earnest prayer went out to you.

You are a merciful and compassionate God, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love. You showed mercy to me when I was living in spiritual darkness. You sent a savior. You have redeemed me.

I returned to you, Father, and you brought me back to life -- life more abundant. You created the stars, the Pleiades and Orion. You turn darkness into morning and day into night. You draw up water from the oceans and pour it down as rain on the land. You are Lord.
You know the vast number of my sins and the depth of my rebellion, yet you chose to forgive me.
I do what is good and run from evil so that I may live! And you are my helper, just as I have claimed. I hate evil and love what is good. You pour out your mercy on me.
 
Your home reaches up to the heavens, while its foundation is on the earth.You draw up water from the oceans and pour it down as rain on the land. You are the Lord.
You have restored my fallen house and repaired its damaged walls. From the ruins, you rebuilt my life and restored me to glory. You have called me your own. You always keep your promises. 
You have increased my good. Abundance comes in faster than I can harvest it. You have firmly planted me in your land of promise and I will never be uprooted.
