Meditating The Word
This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. Joshua 1:8 Meditate means to muse, talk about, consider, meditate, sigh, sing. Our words have power (the power of life and death are in the tongue), but God‘s Word isn‘t just powerful, it‘s anointed. What if instead of speaking what we think about ourselves, we spoke God‘s Word over ourselves instead as a form of meditation? What if we personalized and prayed scripture as a form of daily meditation? Well, as God told Joshua, I believe that THEN you will make your way prosperous and THEN you shall have good success.

13 min
Today on Meditating the Word, we review the decscendants of Levi, the musicians appointed by David and the settlements of the Levites.
This is Day 117. Today we are reading from the 1st Book of Chronicles, Chapter 6
----
Father God, As we read about the cities and pasture lands that were given to the Levites, we are reminded that out of all the tribes of the Children of Israel, they were the only ones who didn't inherit land to work and develop and inhabit. Because their work, was to serve you. You were their inheritance. Your Word says that we are priests and kings. And like the Levites, our work is to serve you. You are our inheritance. You are our portion. May we always remember that you are more than enough. Amen

Today on Meditating the Word, we read three Psalms of Aspah.
This is Day 116. Today we are reading from the Book of Psalms Chapters 73, 77 and 78
----
Father God, so many times we test you and when things don't go the way we planned, we complain about what we don't have instead of praising you for what we do have and for everything you have done for us. Help us remember to rehearse all of the victories, all of the blessings, and to tell them to our children and our children's children, so that the generations to come will know how wonderful you are and set their hope in you. We don't say it enough. Thank you Father, Amen----

Apr 25, 2023
18 min
Today on Meditating the Word, we review the descendants of David and Solomon, Judah, Simeon, Reuben, Gad, and the half tribe of Manasseh, and we read the prayer of Jabez.
This is Day 115. Today we are reading 1st Chronicles Chapters 3-5
----
Father God, your Word tells us that we have not, because we ask not. The sons of Reuben, the Gadites and the half-tribe of Manasseh cried out to you in battle, and you heard them. They prevailed, because you fought for them. Jabez called on you, and your granted his request. Like Jabez, we ask that you bless us indeed and enlarge our borders. May your hand be with us, and may you keep us from even so that we don't cause pain. Thank you, Father, we know that you hear us always when we pray according to your will, which is your Word. Amen.

This is Day 114. Today we are reading Psalms Chapters 43-45, 49, 84-85, and 87
----
Father God, Thank you for your Word. Thank you for just being who you are. You are our strength. Even in our discouragement, we will still praise you for everything you've done and for everything you are. Our redemption was costly. But you didn't spare even your son to redeem us. Truly, I would rather be a doorkeeper in your house than to dwell in the palaces of the wicked. Yet, you don't withhold any good thing from me. You are good. And your loving kindness endures forever. Amen

17 min
Today on Meditating the Word, we review the geneology from Adam to Abraham and the descendants of Abraham, the sons of Israel and the descendants of Judah.
This is Day 113. Today we are reading 1st Chronicles 1 and 2----
Father God, we know following the geneology of your people is important. In it, we see the way a path was made for Jesus to enter into the earth as our Savior. We see the brokenness of humanity, and your ability to use us, even in that brokenness. Thank you, Father, for your patience and your mercy and your steadfast love. You didn't give up on us, but did whatever it took through the centuries to bring us back into right relationship with you. Thank you, Father. Amen.

Father God, we give you thanks with our whole heart and we sing praises to your name. You loved us so much, you sent your Son as a sacrifice to take our place. I can't imagine that depth of love. How could we ever doubt your love for us? You are our God and apart from you, we have nothing. Just being in your presence, Father, is enough. There we find fullness of joy. Thank you, Father, Amen.

Today on Meditating the Word, we read several of the Songs of Ascents, also called Pilgrim Songs. Father God, you are so good to us. You hear us when we call to you. In Jesus, we have forgiveness, not just from our sins of the past, but even for any sin we may commit in the future. We are in awe of your unending mercy and your faithful loving kindness. Thank you, Father, for all of the blessings you have given us through Jesus our Savior. Amen.

Today on Meditating the Word, we read prayers and psalms by David; A contemplation by David, when the Ziphites came and said to Saul, “Isn’t David hiding himself among us?”; and A Psalm by David, when he was in the desert of Judah.
This is Day 108. Today we are reading Psalms Chapters 17, 35, 54 and 63
----
Father God, how I love the Psalms of David. Pure, raw and honest. He spoke to you as he would speak to a friend. Not holding anything back. Yet, even in his darkest times, he ended with praise. Thank you, that we are the apple of your eye. And you hide us in the shadow of your wings. You give us plenty -- so much that we store up wealth for our children. You take pleasure in our prosperity. We magnify you, Father, talk about your righteousness and we praise you all day long. You are our helper. You sustain our souls. We earnestly seek you because your love is better than life. Amen.

Meditating The Word
What if instead of speaking what we think about ourselves, we spoke God‘s Word over ourselves? What if we personalized and prayed scripture as a form of daily meditation?
That's the goal of this podcast. No filler, no ads... just God's Word personalized in the form of a daily confession.
