Episode 323: Isaiah 63
Today's Prayer Meditation is on Isaiah 63
I see my Lord, with his garments stained crimson. He is robed in splendor, striding forward in the greatness of his strength. He is my victorious Lord, mighty to save.
He faced the enemy alone, and made a show of him openly. It was his day of vengeance for the centuries we were held captive by sin. But the time has come for him to redeem us. His wrath sustained him. And he endured the shame of the cross for the joy set before him.
I will tell of your kindness and enduring love. I will praise you for your deeds. You have done so much for me. You give and give and give. Yes, many good things according to your compassion and many kindnesses. Your wonders and goodness are for the benefit of your people.
You called me your own. I am one of your children, a child of the most high God, and I will be true to you.
You became my savior. When I suffered, you suffered too. In my distress, the angel of your presence saved me. In your enduring love and mercy, you redeemed me. You lifted me up and you carried me through.
I am grateful for scripture, so I can read about the days of old, of Moses and his people. How you parted the sea and brought them through it on dry ground with the shepherd of your flock leading them. How you sent your Holy Spirit among them, and your glorious arm of power to be at Moses' right hand. They never stumbled, and your Spirit led them to rest. You guided your people and made for yourself a glorious name.
You look down on me from heaven in tenderness and compassion. Your powerful actions support me. You are my Father, my Redeemer. I am called by your name.
So be it.
Until next time, be blessed and be a blessing.
