Episode 309: Isaiah 49
Today's Prayer Meditation is on Isaiah 49
Lord, you singled me out and called me before my birth; from within my mother's womb you called my name. You have kept me safe, hidden in the shadow of your hand. You have crafted me into a sharp-tipped arrow and tucked me away in your quiver.
I am your servant, and I will bring you glory.
Though at times my work has seemed useless, and I felt as though I had spent my strength for nothing and to no purpose, I leave it all in your hands, Father. And I trust in you. My reward is secured with you.
You have honored me, and given me strength. You counted me as worthy. I am a vessel through which your light shines in the earth.
You always answer at the right time. On the day of my deliverance, you were my help. You watch over me and protect me. You have given me great and precious promises, a binding covenant. I was imprisoned, but you set me free. I was held in darkness, but you called me into your glorious light.
You provide for me wherever I am. Along the roads or in the open hills, with peace of mind, in comfort and security. Wherever I am, I know I will be fine, no matter what circumstances may surround me. I will neither hunger nor thirst. In your shadow I am protected from oppressive heat and the burning sun.
You are the one who loves me, as a mother loves her child. In your great love and mercy, you guide me. You lead me to restful places, rejuvenating springs of living water. You make my going easy, leveling the road and smoothing the path that leads me home to you.
I sing for joy with the heavens. I rejoice with the earth. I burst into song with the mountains. You have comforted me and shown me great compassion in my suffering.
I know you will never forget me or abandon me. You have written my name on the palms of your hands. I am always on your mind. I lift up my head and look up and watch my heart's desire come.
I trust in you completely, and I will never be put to shame. You will fight those who fight me. You will save my children. You are my hero, my Lord, my Savior and my Redeemer.
So be it.
Until next time, be blessed and be a blessing.
