Episode 308: Isaiah 48

Today's Prayer Meditation is on Isaiah 48

Father, I listen to you. I call on you. I depend on you. You are the God of Angel Armies. 

Through your prophets, you spoke what would happen long ago. You took action, and all of your predictions came true. No one can claim to have done them, because you commanded it to happen and prophesied it beforehand. 

Now you are speaking new things, secrets never before heard. They are brand new, not things from the past, so no one can boast and say they knew it all along. 

You have refined me, Father. You rescued me out of the furnace of suffering, for your own sake. Your reputation can never be tarnished, and your glory cannot be shared with idols.

I am specially named, specially chosen. I am not without a purpose. You alone are God, the first and the last. It is by your power, your desire, that you laid the foundations of the earth and spread out the heavens above. You established them. You call the stars, and they all appear in order. 

You are my Redeemer. You are the Holy One. You are the Lord my God. You give me instruction for living well and right, and in how I should be and do. You lead me along the paths I should follow. 

I listen to your command, and I am flooded with peace that flows like a gentle river. Your rightousness rolls over me like waves in the sea. But there is no peace for the wicked.

You have freed me from my captivity. I sing out your praise to the ends of the earth. You have redeemed me. You give me living water to drink as you lead me through the desert. I am forever in your mind and in your presence.

So be it.
