Episode 307: Isaiah 46

Today's Prayer Meditation is on Isaiah 46

False gods cannot protect me, and I cannot protect false gods. To follow after idols is to go into captivity with them.

But Father, you have cared for me since I was born. When I was still in my mother's womb, you took care of me. And you will be my God throughout my lifetime--until my hair is white with age. When I am old, you will still be here carrying me as you always have. You made me. You saved me. 

There is no one I can compare you to, Father. No one is your equal. How foolish it is to idolize anything made by man. Who foolish to worship something that cannot move, cannot hear or answer, something that cannot save. 

I am not tempted in the least to conform to the ways of this world. I remember all of the things you have done for me in the past. I would never have made it without you. You alone are God. There is none like you.

You declare the end from the beginning. Your words have creative, life-giving power, they have your spirit in them. Your spirit shows me things to come, before they even happen. All of your plans will come to pass. Your word has gone out, and it cannot fail. 

I listen to your words, Father, and I speak them over my life and circumstances. I stay on the right path and walk where you lead me. You set things right, not in the distant future, but right now. You have saved me and I see your beauty and splendor on display throughout my life. I am your chosen one. 

So be it.
