Episode 300: Isaiah 35

Today's Prayer Meditation is on Isaiah 35

Even the wilderness and desert will be glad and whoop for joy in those days. The wasteland will rejoice and blossom with spring flowers. There will be an abundance of flowers and singing and joy! The deserts will come alive with new growth budding and blooming. They will become as green as the mountains of Lebanon, as lovely as Mount Carmel or the plain of Sharon.

Your glory is on full display in your Kingdom, Father, and I revel in the majestic splendor of you.

You give me confidence and hope. My tired hands and weak knees are strengthened by you. You encourage me. I no longer have a fearful heart. I am strong and unafraid, because you are my champion, you are with me. The enemy has no hold on me. You give me success. You have saved me. 

You have opened the eyes of the blind, and unplugged the ears of the deaf. The lame leap like deer, and the mute sing for joy. 

Springs gush forth in the wilderness and streams water the wastelands. The parched ground has become a pool, and springs of water satisfy the thirsty land. Marsh grass and reeds and rushes flourish where desert jackals once lived. 

You have made a way, a Highway of Holiness, through the once deserted land. Evil-minded people cannot travel on your highway. Only those who are right with you are able to walk its pleasant path. Fools will never walk there. Lions do not lurk along its course, nor any other ferocious beasts. There are no other dangers. Only the redeemed walk on it. 

I have been ransomed by you, Lord. I enter that place of right relationship with you. An aura of joy never-ending attends me. Sorrow and mourning have disappeared - vanished into thin air. I am filled to overflowing with joy and gladness.

So be it.
