Episode 295: Isaiah 27 & 28

Today's Prayer Meditation is on Isaiah 27 and 28

I will sing about the fruitful vineyard. Father you watch over it, watering it carefully. Day and night you watch so no one can harm it. 

When you find briers and thorns growing, you attack them and burn them up

But I turned to you for help. I have made peace with you. I accepted your peace for my turmoil. 

Now my life has taken root. See how it buds and blossoms and produces fruit. 

You purged my wickedness and took away all my sin. You have gathered your children like handpicked grain. One by one, you gathered us from the east to the west, to worship you in your holy mountain.

 

But what sorrow awaits the proud. Their glorious beauty will fade like a flower.
Their crown will be trampled under foot. Whoever sees it will snatch it up, as an early fig is quickly picked and eaten.

You are my glorious crown. You are my pride and joy. You give me a longing for justice, and great courage to stand in faith. 

You have given me a place to rest. A place for the weary. A place of quiet rest. You have given me instruction one line at a time. A little here, and a little there. 

You placed a foundation stone in Jerusalem, a firm and tested stone. Jesus is my precious cornerstone. He alone is safe to build on. I believe in him, and I will never be shaken. 

Test me with the measuring line of justice and the plumb line of righteousness. My refuge is built on your truth, and nothing can knock it down. It is built on your wisdom, and no flood can sweep it away. 

I listen to your instruction, Father, and pay close attention. Just as the farmer plows then then sows seed, each it its proper way, and each in its proper place. You have shown me just what to do, you have given me understanding. 

Lord of Angel Armies, you are a wonderful teacher, and you give me great wisdom.

So be it.
