Episode 241: John 12

Today's meditation is on John Chapter 12

Praise God and blessings on Jesus who came in his name. He is my King, filled with love and mercy and humility.

Like a kernel of wheat planted in the soil, his death produced many new kernels--a plentiful harvest of new lives. Because I don't put my focus on my life in this world, I will keep my life for eternity. I follow Jesus so that I can serve him. And Father God honors me for my service. I pray that I may bring glory to his name.

Jesus cast out satan, the ruler of this world. By being lifted up from the earth in crucifixion, he drew everyone to himself. 

His light shined for just a little while before he was crucified. But now, it shines forever. I walk in the light, and the darkness cannot overtake me. I put my trust in the light, and I am a child of the light.

Despite all the miraculous signs Jesus did while he walked the earth, most of the people did not believe in him, just as the prophet Isaiah had predicted.
Their eyes were blinded and they couldn't see. Their hearts were hardened and they could not understand. Otherwise, they would have turned to him and been healed. 

But God has opened my eyes. He has created a new heart within me. I see and I understand. I have submitted myself to Christ, and he has healed me. I don't care what anyone here on earth thinks or says. I love the praise of God more than the praise of people. 

I trust in Jesus, and I trust also in Father God who sent him. Jesus came as a light to shine in this dark world. I put my trust in him and am no longer in the dark. He came not to judge me, but to save me. He spoke not on his own authority, but said what the Father told him to say and how he told him to say it. And God's commands lead to eternal life.
