Episode 157: Psalm 147
Today's meditation is on Psalm 147
I praise you, Lord.
How good and beautiful it is to sing praises to you. How delightful and how fitting. Let my praise make me lovely before you and bring you great delight.
You spanned the distance between us, and brought me back into right relationship with you. You healed my broken heart, and bandaged my wounds. You count the stars and set each one in it's place, calling them by their names.
How great you are, Lord. Your power is absolute. There is nothing it can't accomplish. Your understanding is beyond comprehension. You have infinite understanding of everything.
You support and strengthen the humble and bring down the proud.
I sing out songs of thanksgiving to you, Lord. I sing praises to your holy name with melodies overflowing.
You fill the sky with clouds, sending showers to water the earth, and make the grass grow in mountain pastures. You give food to the wild animals and feed the young ravens from the palm of your hand when they cry.
I don't find security in my own personal strength. My might does not impress you. Your delight is in my fear and reverence of you. You show favor to me as I wait for your tender embrace. I put my hope in your unfailing love.
I glorify you, Lord and praise you with my highest praise. You have surrounded me with your strength, and blessed my children. You bring me peace, and satisfy my every need. You send out your orders throughout the world. Your words run as swift messengers, bringing them to pass.
You send snow like white wool and paint the landscape with frost. You hurl hail like stones and cause waters to freeze before winter's icy blast. Then, at your command, it all melts away.
You have revealed your words to me, Lord. Your life-giving instructions are written in your scriptures for me to follow.
I praise you, Lord.
Until next time, be blessed and be a blessing.
