Episode 147: Psalms 130, 131 and 133
Today's meditation is based on Psalms 130, 131 and 133
From the depths of my despair, I cried out to you, Lord. And you heard my prayers. You don't remember my sins. You hold nothing against me. Your forgiving love is what makes you so wonderful. You have forgiven me and my sins have been erased, as though they never happened. What an awesome thing this is and what an awesome God you are. That is why I wait expectantly, trusting in you, God, expecting a breakthrough. Your word brings me hope. I trust in your promises. I long for you more than any watchman would long for the morning light. I will watch and wait for your O, God, throughout the night. My hope is in you. You are loving, kind and forgiving. You have a thousand ways to set me free. You come to me with salvation and armloads of blessings. You yourself redeemed me and ransomed me from my slavery to sin.
Lord, I am not proud and haughty. My heart is meek before you. I don’t consider myself better than others. I don’t pretend to “know it all,” and I'm content to not purse matters that are over my head--such as your complex mysteries and wonders--that I'm not yet ready to understand. I am humbled and quiet in your presence. Like a contented child, I am fully satisfied and my begging has been stilled. My soul is content in you. I quietly trust in you now, and always.
How wonderful it is, how pleasant, when I live in sweet unity with those around me. Harmony is as precious as the fragrant anointing oil flowing from the head of Aaron the high priest, dripping down his beard and running all the way to the hem of his priestly robes. Harmony as refreshing as the dew on the Earth. God, you have decreed your eternal blessing on the redeemed, even life forevermore.
Until next time, be blessed and be a blessing.
