Episode 111: Psalm 46

Today's meditation is on Psalm 46

God is my refuge and strength, a tested help in times of trouble. He is a safe place to hide, and ready to help. More than enough and always available whenever I need him. I stand fearless at the cliff-edge of doom, courageous in sea storm and earthquake. I do not fear. Let the oceans roar and foam; let the mountains tremble and fall into the sea. The raging roar of stormy winds and crashing waves cannot erode my faith in him.

There is a river of joy flowing through the city of my God—the sacred home of the God above all gods. The constantly flowing river brings joy and delight with its sparkling streams. God himself is living in that city; therefore it stands unmoved despite the turmoil everywhere. He will not delay his help. The nations rant and rave in anger—but when God speaks, the earth melts in submission and kingdoms totter into ruin.

The Jacob-wrestling God fights for me. The God of Angel Armies protects me.

Come, see the glorious things that my God does. See the breathtaking wonders of my God. He plants flowers and trees all over the earth. He causes wars to end and breaks all the weapons across his knee. I surrender my anxiety. I stand still and silent and take a long loving look at him, my high God, above politics, above everything. He is God, the great I AM! He will be honored by every nation in the world!
