Episode 103: Psalm 31
Today's meditation is on Psalm 31
I trust you, Lord, to be my hiding place. You never let me down. You rescue me because you are the God who always does what is right. You answer quickly when I cry to you; bending low to hear my whispered plea. You are my great Rock of safety, the cave in which I hide. You are my safe leader, my true mountain guide. You pull me from the traps the enemy has set for me. You pull me into victory and breakthrough.
You have rescued me, O God. You always keep your promises. You are my high fortress, where I'm kept safe. You are my stronghold of salvation. I worship only you. I hate all the silly religion. I despise the deceptive illusions, the pretense and nonsense. I worship only you. In you alone I trust. I am leaping and singing, radiant with joy because of your mercy. You have listened to my troubles and have seen the crisis in my soul. You have not let the enemy close me in, but have given me room to breathe and open ground in which to maneuver.
Lord, you have mercy on me in my anguish. I have cried my eyes out and feel hollow inside. Though I may pine away with grief; and feel drained because of sadness. My troubles have worn me out, and seem to have turned my bones to powder. Though I am scorned by the enemy and even at times by my neighbors and friends. Though I am forgotten, like a broken and discarded pot, and hear lies told about me. I am not afraid.
I throw myself on you, for you alone are my God. I am trusting you, O Lord. My life, my every moment, my destiny--it's all in your hands. Warm me with a smile. You let your favor shine again upon your servant. You replace the shame and disgrace with your favor.
Oh, how great is your goodness. You have piled up a stack of blessings! Like a treasure chest heaped up and spilling over with blessings. You are ready and waiting for me to run to you. You hide me in the sheltered, secret place before your face. I am overshadowed with your glory-presence. As you slam the door on the enemy, you silence the poisonous gossip and the brutal insults.
You hide me in the shelter of your presence, safe beneath your hand. Blessed are you, O Lord, for you have shown me that your never-failing love protects me like the walls of a fort! Your love is the wonder of the world. You will never desert me. You always listen to my plea and answer me.
Oh, how I love you Lord. I am yours. You protect me and I am loyal to you. I take courage. I will be brave and strong, and I will never give up. I wait expectantly for you.
Until next time, be blessed and be a blessing.
