Day 99: 1st Samuel 4-8

Today on Meditating the Word, the Philistines capture the Ark, Eli dies, the Ark is moved from city to city, and finally returned to Israel, Samuel subdues the Philistines at Mizpah, and Israel asks for a king.

This is Day 99. Today we are reading 1st Samuel 4-8

Father God, Thank you for your Word, as difficult as some of the passages are to read. It's easy for us to look back and see the mistakes of Israel. Over and over again, they chose to go their own way and worship other gods, and over and over they suffered the consequences. Help us, Father, to not make the same mistake. You are our God and our King. And we will worship you alone. Amen.
