Day 98: 1st Samuel 1-3

 

Today on Meditating the Word, Hannah prays for a child, Samuel is born, Hannah dedicates Samuel to the Lord; Eli's wicked sons, Prophecy against the house of Eli, and the Lord calls Samuel.

This is Day 98. Today we are reading 1st Samuel 1-3.

Father God, we learn from Hannah the importance of persistence and making a direct and detailed petition to you. You heard her, because she didn't ask for anything that was against your will. And you granted her request. And when it was granted, she kept her vow. She wanted a child more than anything, yet, she was willing to give her child up to you. In keeping her vow, you blessed her five times more. May we follow Hannah's example. When we ask according to your will, you hear us and you grant our requests. Thank you, Father, for your faithfulness. Amen.
