Day 80: Deuteronomy 30-31

Today on Meditating the Word, Israel is promised Prosperity after turning to the Lord, the offer of Life or Death is set before them; Joshua is chosen to succeed Moses, the Public Reading of the Law, and Israel's Rebellion is Predicted.

This is Day 80. Today we are reading Deuteronomy 30-31

Father God, it would be easy for us to look at the Children of Israel and ask how could they rebel against you time and time again, but we know that scripture was written, this history was recorded, to serve as a mirror for us. We look at their rebellion, and we find ourselves there. Yet, you are merciful. You were merciful to them, and you are merciful to us today. Your mercies are new every morning, and our sins have been forgiven -- even the ones we haven't committed yet. Help us to stay true to your Word, Father. Help us to turn away from anything that would influence us to disobey you. Make us strong and courageous to follow you. In Jesus' name we pray,  Amen.
