Day 49: Leviticus 16-18
Today on Meditating the Word, the Day of Atonement was established which foreshadowed Jesus as our scapegoat; eating blood is forbidden; and unlawful sexual relations are discussed.
This is Day 49. Today we are reading Leviticus Chapters 16-18
----
Father God, we read about the day of Atonement, and the scapegoat, and recognize Jesus. Jesus was our scapegoat. All of our sins, our failings, our shortcomings -- past, present and future -- where placed on him. We are so grateful we don't have to make Atonement over and over again, but that his sacrific was enough -- once and forever. He bore our sins. He carried them into the desolate place. With his sacrifice, we have been cleansed and made whole forever. Thank you, Father. Amen
