Day 189: 2nd Kings 15 and 2nd Chronicles 26

Today on Meditating the Word, Azariah reigns in Judah, and Israel goes through a number of kings: Zechariah, Shallum, Menahem, Pekahiah and Pekah. After Azariah's death, his son Jotham reigns over Judah.

This is Day 189. Today we are reading 2nd Kings 15 and 2nd Chronicles 26.

Father God, we see over and over again how so many kings started out right. They followed your commandments. They brought the people back to worship you in the temple. They did many great works. And then, as so often happens with us, pride entered in. They took counsel from the foolish, or took their own counsel, and forsook Your ways. Help us to remain faithful, Father, as You are faithful. To seek You, and to do what's right. Thank You for Your love, Your mercy and Your guidance. Amen
